Very good food. The service was fast and the food hot when we got it. Good portions of food. The salsa was a little too spicy for several of us.

I had the top sirloin with rice and beans with the sopapillas to go. All were delicious and my server was terrific even though she was busy with several tables.

Based on TA reviews we had dinner here on one the nights we were in Farmington and we were underwhelmed. Arriving at the restaurant at about 6:00PM we got in a line next to the sign stating “Please Wait to be Seated”, but no one seemed to be seating anybody. The restaurant was not crowded. After about 5 minutes one of the wait staff noticed the line and started seating people. Once we got seated our drink order was taken while we looked at the menu. About 10 minutes later a different server came to the table to take our food order. We asked about the drinks and apparently that order was not passed on to the new server. Our drinks arrived within a reasonable time followed shortly by our food. The food was heat hot (a plus) but just tasted ok. We’ve had better at some of the chain Mexican restaurants. The server never came back to check on us until she brought the bill. Maybe it was just an off night but overall we were not impressed.

I am an experienced Mexican food eater (southern mexico, northern mexico, tex-mex, southern New Mexican, and Northern New Mexican). Yes there are differences! This restaurant serves good food that seems to originate from Southern New Mexico. The red chili is more of an enchilada sauce than chili. They also serve sopapillas but they come after dinner with honey. The complementary chips and salsa is also good and is also served with a sort of green chili/sour cream dip, which was also good.

Don't get me wrong, this is a good restaurant (have I said good enough times.) I prefer authentic Northern New Mexican food.

The receptionist seemed to be arguing with one of the waiters.

We eat here 2 - 3 times a year. Food while not spectacular is consistently good. Stuffed sopapilla, cheese enchiladas, huevos rancheros all good. First time I have been asked if we wanted our hot sopapillas now or for dessert. It was dessert of course. Go early, like 5:00pm. Busy place.
