“In the middle of the High Mountain Desert?? yes!”
Reviewed February 17, 2013

We live in Taos, and dine at Hattori's very very often They are a wonderful husband and wife team who own and run the restaurant, with very capable waitstaff. Everything is fresh and clean, and watching the activity from the Sushi bar is amazing. Fresh tuna in Taos is a hard thing to accomplish! (we don't have commercial air delivery here) If you love Sushi and Sashimi,this is the only place in Taos that I recommend!

“Great sushi!”
Reviewed January 26, 2013

We heard about this place through online reviews. It is a short 10 minute drive north of Taos. There was a sign on the right side of the road listing all the shops including "Sushi a la Hattori" and it is located in the southwest corner facing the road. We went on a Friday night and it was packed. The sushi was absolutely delicious. Service was great. We were thankful for the online suggestions to eat here. It ranked as some of the best sushi we have ever had. We did not order nigiri and regretted it when we saw it going to other tables. The pieces were huge and looked so fresh and tasty. Sushi a la Hattori is a must try. If you love sushi, you won't regret it.

“awesome place for sushi in NM”
Reviewed November 2, 2012

As seafood lover and newcomer in this time, I don't expect I would ever find seafood or sushi place here in NM. But I can't believe that I find a fresh sushi in NM. Love this place!!

“A++++”
Reviewed October 19, 2012

We dine here often and as others have said, are ecstatic to have a Sushi place like this in our landlocked state/town! I am a died in the wool sashimi eater and always appreciate the freshness and variety of Sushi a la Hattori. I hadn't thought of it as difficult to find, but I live here. For those not from here, its a lovely walk through the Overland Sheepskin garden/pond area or you can drive around to the back and go in from the side. Lovely when you can sit outside and inside is small but comfortable.

“Great Sushi in Taos - GO HERE”
Reviewed August 28, 2012

This restaurant serves some of the best sushi we have had anywhere in the US. We look for sushi wherever we travel so we have lots of experience in many locations. The fish was totally fresh and cut beautifully. The Japanese owner was very kind and friendly and spoke at length with my husband in Japanese. We will return to this restaurant any time we are near Taos and will recommend it to our friends who go to ski there. Don't miss it - YES it was a little hard to find but worth it!
