I am not sure how I finished this massive steak. Very well seasoned, cooked to perfection(med rare) and you could almost cut it with a fork! Salad was really fresh, tasted like home grown. Have passed this place at the intersection of AZ 12 and US 60 10 times...will NEVER do it again. If you have ANY reason to go this way, plan to stop here. Nice country decor, full bar, store, motel, gas station and RV Park. Datil is tiny town near Pietown.

I had a huge cheeseburger and all you can eat salad bar and ice tree for 9 bucks. The salad bar was huge and very fresh. Will stop again.

First know, there are very few options in the area. This is the only restaurant in Datil, and the nearest other eateries are in Magdalena (30 minutes east) or Pie Town (30 minutes west), and those options are open limited days/hours.

Food... OK, not great. Had a taco plate, it was decent, not I suspect some of the food was originally in a can. The chips and salsa were tostitos and jar salsa. The dinner was prepared well though.

Service is friendly.

Cost is very inexpensive - this would probably have gotten 3 out of 5 from me, except it was priced at almost fast food levels.

Atmosphere is pleasant, with a fireplace and a nice dining room feel.

Overall, not a bad choice if you are in the area.

I greatly enjoyed my drive through one of the most beatiful areas of the country and had a great breakfast at the guest ranch cafe. It's a good stopping point for travelers like me and seems to function the same for the locals. The service is good and the atmosphere low key and in the lodge/ranch vein, though more organic and natural in existence and not so deliberate or touristy.

Plus, they have free wifi.
