Dallas and Nancy were incredibly helpful and in spite of their total involvement in the Balloon Fiesta managed to make all of their guests extremely comfortable and taken care of...from a great welcome, to crack of dawn breakfasts, to outstanding directions and wonderful restaurant suggestions...AMAZING. We've already booked a return.

We spent three nights at the Chocolate Turtle during the annual International Balloon Festival and highly recommend it. The B and B is an adobe home tastefully decorated in a quiet and convenient section of Albuquerque within short distances of many tourist attractions and conveniently located for the Balloon Festival. It is a short drive from exit 233 on Interstate 25, about 30 to 40 minutes from the airport depending on traffic. From the large covered patio at the rear of the B and B, one can have a leisurely breakfast and watch the Balloon Festival in the distance. There is also lovely landscaping in the rear of the property as well as wild life to enjoy . Ample comfortable chairs are provided. The patio area is simply a peaceful place just to read or relax. We saw bunnies, road runners, quail and many birds. (The balloons are mainly launched at 7 AM, so the hosts are up well before dawn to put on coffee and prepare food for their guests.) The B and B is a very comfortable home and is chock full of goodies throughout the day for the guests, such as ample snacks and delcious fresh-baked cookies. The hosts are quite eager to share their knowledge about the Albuquerque area and have loads of tourists pamphlets, guide books and restaurant menus. (They are excellent sources for information about the Balloon Fesitval itself as they are part of the support team for one of the balloonists.) They are both very congenial and treat their guest like friends or relatives rather than merely paying customers. It was a treat to stay at the B and B and many people we are sure will say to themselves, as we did: Gosh, we wish we could live here! We would be happy to answer any questions about the B and B or the Albuquerque-Santa Fe area which we have visited several times.

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Choc Turtle during balloon festival week for a few days and this is now my favorite b&b. the hosts were so personable, friendly and helpful. they gave us all kinds of tips on how best to enjoy the festival. we learned so much about hot air ballooning from the hosts. very nice and interesting people!
The views of Sandia mountain from the back yard were beautiful. the bedroom was clean and cheerful the common rooms (living room, dining room) were so comfortable i felt right at home.

The Chocolate Turtle has the best of everything - Dallas and Nancy are gracious hosts, very helpful in recommending restaurants and activities. Corrales is a lovely town away from the big city atmosphere of Albuquerque. The rooms were comfortable and colorfully decorated. Best of all was the wonderful garden where we enjoyed delicious patio breakfasts and great conversations.
