“Rock and Roll History in Eastern NM”

Norman Petty Studios
Ranked #2 of 11 things to do in Clovis
Attraction details
Reviewed October 6, 2008

Buddy Holly, The Crickets, Roy Orbison, The Fireballs (Sugar Shack), Lee Ann Rimes and others have made Rock and Roll history in this recording studio in Clovis, New Mexico.

A museum devoted to this rockabilly birthplace opened Labor Day 2008 adjacent to the Clovis Chamber of Commerce in downtown Clovis.

It's worth a stop in Clovis to see the great exhibition of memorabilia from this era. Millions of records were sold from the recordings made in this studio.

Norman Petty Studios is sort of a Western rockabilly version of Sun Records.
