I was a little concerned when we pulled in the driveway but found our room to be extremely clean and comfortable. No frills. The staff was very pleasant and helpful with local information.

Outside is a bit seedy, but the inside was scrupulously clean. New paint inside, sparkling tile. Host was super-helpful in unloading heavy breathing machine. Good value for a short stay. Mapquest location was incorrect - west of town.

We own several houses in Clayton and have to visit every month or so to work on them. I have stayed at every motel in Clayton and the Holiday is by far the best value. They now have wifi in all rooms and a pretty good selection of channels on TV. There is even a sunglasses wearing elephant (made from a bath towel) bearing a welcoming gift of peanuts when you open your door. From the fifties inspired main office to the redone tile in the bathroom this motel is my favorite in Clayton.

The Holiday Motel offered a very clean an updated room for a very reasonable price. We were only going to be in the hotel for about 7-9 hours to sleep, before traveling on and we did not want to pay $100.00. I had read a few reviews and decided to try this motel. It did not look that great from the outside at 10:00p.m. We were pleasantly surprised the room was immaculate, the furniture was new, and the tv worked. The bed could have been a bit more comfortable and we could have used a couple more pillows. Overall this was a great experience- I kept telling my husband that room was really clean and what a great price! I would stay there again if we were in Clayton.

We found this gem of a motel as we traveled through northern New Mexico. It is a motor lodge style motel on the west side of town.
As we are used to staying in national chains, we decided to get a little adventurous and stay in a "mom and pop". We wanted to see a room first, though, just to be sure. Upon meeting the owner, Stephanie Johnson, we were pretty much sold. She was very gracious and eagerly took us to preview the room which would eventually be ours for the night. While obviously older in style, the room was spotless. It contained both a king and a full bed. Free wireless internet, good cable TV, ice, good A/C unit. The only thing lacking was a hairdryer (in case you usually don't pack one), and she may have had one for us to borrow...just didn't ask. We definitely recommend for an inexpensive night on the road!
