Great stay and Have always loved the room. was excellent great service. Norman at the front desk was very attentive, friendly, helpful and very Accomodating.
Visit stays out because of the very, very old crosses at the edge of the property. A highlight was getting Norman' historical stories.

My wife of 40 years and I went up for a Valentine Weekend get away. The service was great, the room represented what we love about living in New Mexico. A treasure. Love the fact that we were able to have a quiet weekend.

Visiting Chimayo is a must for the history, culture ... and food. We stayed the night at the Hacienda and were delighted with the room. The room was beautifully furnished and the little kiva fireplace in the corner was the icing on the cake.
Breakfast was brought to our room the next morning and was delicious. Staff was friendy and helpful. I would definitely recommend this B&B to anyone.
This is an old hacienda -- wide plank floors, high ceilings -- it's NOT the Marriott -- but who the heck wants the Marriott when they stay at a B&B?

Anyone visiting Northern New Mexico should travel up or down the High Road, through the mountains from Santa Fe to Taos. or if you stay in Santa Fe and want a romantic, mountain getaway experience about a half hour away, this is a great place. beautiful, high-ceiling rooms, breakfast brought to your room, a fountain splashing outside, peace and quiet. Across the road is their renowned restaurant-- have dinner on the patio. Most people go to Chimayo to visit the ancient church, which is definitely worthwhile.

Room Tip: All the rooms appear to be good.

This was the first time we have stayed at Hacienda de Chimayo. My parents had stayed there and highly recommended it. But set your expectations accordingly. There is no internet or wifi, no tv and limited cellphone coverage. It is a trip back to when vacations were unplugged and you spent the night watching the sunset. I would compare this property to a property in Mexico when I have traveled internationally. It is NOT going to feel like a up-to-date american hotel or B&B. Instead it is a taste of old New Mexico. Wood floors, kiva fireplace it reminds my husband and I of staying at our grandparents homes in New Mexico when we were little. We stayed for four nights, and in the end we were sorry we had not booked more time. Schedule early because rooms fill up fast.

Room Tip: We stayed in Seis, I believe it is their most popular room. Choose a room with a balcony, since ther...

We booked our stay at the Hacineda de Chimayo on their Website photos which does not live up to what one receives as their accommodaions. We stayed in the Siete Room which indeed needs serious help. First of all the Bathroom was gross when the toilet flusher had a serious crack in it and the bottom of the tub had not been seriously cleaned for sometime instead a rubber type mat with bumps on it was replaced over the tub mat which one could tell had dirt marks engraved therein it. Also, sink facets and tub facets have not seen a good cleaning in a long, long time. Isn't the Hacienda de Chimayo aware of the fact there are cleaners available for cleaning facets? Their bathroom linens are very thin from wear and did not smell like fresh laundered linens. Furniture has the appeal of flea market finds. The couch had stains on it and of the 3-throw pillows - one had brown stains on the back of it. No air-conditioning and no TV to even catch up on the news All and all the Hacinda de Chimayo has missed the boat without improving their accommodatons regarding their furnishings, updating their bathroom, sloppy paint job and the wallpaper is something that deperately needs attending to. We did not receive accommodations for the price we paid. Most disappointing because on their Wedsite it looks like a charming, clean place to stay. I do not receommend the Hacienda de Chimayo. Their restaurant has excellent food.

Our first experience at the Hacienda was several years ago. We had driven from Colorado and arrived late in the afternoon to a light dusting of snow which continued throughout the evening. Having eaten at Rancho de Chimayo since the mid-1960's, we knew a great meal awaited us across the road.........as always we weren't disappointed. The snow and the welcoming lights of the restaurant were magical and the food continues to remain the best New Mexican cuisine available. After dinner, we returned to our cozy room and lit a fire in our traditional fireplace. The slight smell of pinon and glow from the fire warmed our room. The next morning we were treated to breakfast in our room, complete with fresh coffee, orange juice, fresh fruit, yogurt, and a warmed muffin. It couldn't have been nicer. When visiting Santa Fe we continue to stay at the Hacienda and consistently it delivers a unique and wonderful experience tied specifically to the region. If you're looking for pretentious and over the top, the Hacienda de Chimayo may not fill the bill. If you're looking for a quiet retreat far different from the mainstream with amazingly friendly staff, then I would highly recommend the Hacienda de Chimayo.

Room Tip: We have always stayed in room cuatro. It faces the courtyard and fountain away from the road. The...
