“Quaint little stop!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 23, 2012

I'm sure all of the locals just think it's good food. It is a traditionally little diner, booths, tables, and a counter. A diverse menu from burgers, sandwiches, fish, and New Mexican. The little cafe was busy but not over crowded and the staff kept up with the lunch rush. We enjoyed watching the staff interact and have fun with the guests and each other. It was nice to see people having fun at work.
Loved all of the "Smokey the Bear" memorabilia especially the posters.

“Outstanding”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 20, 2012

This place is just another Cafe setting with average furnishings. However, we were impressed with the friendly service and the food was outstanding. I would recommend this place to my family and friends. Just don't expect fancy fare but what you'll get is very, very good!

“Stop on in the Smokey Bear for some smokin good eats!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 23, 2012

The Smokey Bear restaurant is not your Chili's, TGIF chain restaurant or McDonalds. It is down home good cooking. The walls are covered in Smokey Bear memorabilia and just has that old town diner charm. First, skip all the drink options and go for the Coke in a bottle. Then I'd recommend the Burger with green chilies (they are spicy but get out of your comfort zone and feed your belly). Also recommend getting the potato salad. Not sure what is different about it than other potato salads but it is and in a good way. Then wrap it up with anything they list on their dessert menu though I am personally biased to the lemon or chocolate meringue pies or dive into some cobbler. You can't go wrong and your belly will leave happy.

“If you want a good diner, stop here”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 27, 2011

Had wonderfully spicy huevos rancheros and breakfast burritos smothered with green and red chile....quite awesome for a chilly morning. We enjoyed the Smokey memorabilia on the walls....a great warmup for the museum down the road.
