We recently stayed in the Best Western in Bloomfield and attended the nearby Animas River Blues Festival. The hotel is on NM 550 and is on the way from New Mexico to Colorado towns such as Telluride and Durango.

The town of Bloomfield is small and dedicated to the oil and gas industry so I was surprised to find the hotel was so nice.

Our bed was so comfortable, the bathroom was sparkling clean and the staff was very nice. We had a mini-frig that kept our sodas and sandwiches ice cold. The air conditioning worked perfectly - something that was not working in another Best Western in Colorado in 90 degree August heat last year.

The hotel serves a small breakfast in the morning. It's pretty good considering it's included in the room charge, with plenty of cereals, toast, fruit, eggs and bacon. The indoor pool and hot tub are very nice too.

Also of interest, check out the wonderful murals of the local oil and gas industry in the lobby. The murals are done in sort of a vintage WPA style and can also be viewed up close from the second floor balcony. A train set runs along the molding too although I haven't seen it in motion.

We like this hotel and lot and will definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: You might want to ask for a room in the back. Road noise didn't bother me and I didn't find...

On our recent stay in Bloomfield we returned to this hotel after being so impressed the first time. I was very much looking forward to the hot tub which is probably the best one I've experienced in a hotel. Unfortunately, the jets were not working and the water was dirty even though the spa was still open and full of people. I really hope the hot tub gets fixed. We cancelled our reservation for the next week as the desk staff let us know it was still not fixed when I inquired by phone. I appreciate them checking into the situation and letting me know the problem still existed.

Thank you for taking the time to give us a great review. We are very happy you enjoyed your stay and I would like to personally apologize for our hot tub being down for so long. It was very upsetting to hear that this interfered with your choosing to stay with us again. Unfortunately we were waiting on a few parts to come in. Since then it has been fixed and is up and running.
Thank you once again!

An excellent hotel. Friendly efficient staff. Clean well appointed room. Fridge with freezer in the room. We stayed on a Saturday night and got the last available non-smoking room. Sound proofing was so good that I never heard anyone else when I was in the room. The hallways smell like stale smoke but the room and breakfast area were no problem. The pool was lovely after a hot afternoon of hiking the ruins. The whirlpool needs attention. The complimentary breakfast had the best quality and largest selection of choices I've ever seen. I would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Make reservations ahead of time if possible, many guests are regulars and if you're there during...

Thank You for the great review! We really appreciate you sharing your experience with us. I would like to apologize about the smell in the hallways we are trying new things too get rid of or at least mask the lingering scent of smoke. I would also like to apologize for the whirlpool as well, we will look into having someone on staff in the evenings certified to check their levels. Im glad you liked our breakfast its something we have worked very hard at putting together.
Thank you again!

We wanted to visit the Bisti Badlands and I came accross this hotel on Tripadvisor. We can agree with the positive reviews. The check in was efficent, fast and very helpfull with restaurant and entertainment suggestions. The beds were soft and had duvee blankets. The shower had lot's of waterpressure and was very clean as well as the room itself. It even has cleanable remotes ! The lobby and breakfast area are beautifully decorated and the fitness room is well equipted for cardio and strength workout. Great hotel, great service, near indian Casino and easy to find route to Bisti Badlands.

We don't have one complaint about this hotel, well except maybe that the bananas served at breakfast were black. Check in/out was smooth and easy. There were cozy and inviting lobby and seating areas. The bed was comfortable as were the pillows and bedding. The room was very clean and had everything you could need. When we got back to our room at the end of each day it was as clean and tidy as the day we checked in. The breakfast was adequate..yogurt, two types of eggs and meat, fruits, several cereals and pasteries plus they make your waffles for you. Fridge worked great for chilling beverages. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Front desk even loaned us scissors for gift wrapping. AC works great! We stayed on the street side and didn't have any issues with noise. The hotel is located for easy access and is central to many of the small communities which is great because there aren't many places to stay and the ones that are there I wouldn't stay at. Definitely would stay there any time we were in the area.

The hotel lobby was really nice, but my room was not. The furniture was worn and torn and the elevator was scary. They do not get rid of the smoke smell which can be done. The best thing about this hotel is the front desk staff. I was there for three nights and every girl that worked was very friendly and welcoming. I did have a delicious hamburger and shake from Blake's Lotta Burger across the street.

We stayed here while visiting Chaco Canyon (WOW!) for two nights. If you want a quiet room stay in the backside, not on the highway side. The rooms were clean, modern and comfortable and the staff was friendly and helpful. Our best meal in Bloomfield was at the local Chinese restaurant.
