“Delicious carne adovada”
Reviewed October 23, 2012

Had lunch at Abuelita's with a NM friend who had never eaten here, but who had heard the carne adovada was the best in the Albuquerque area. Homemade chips and salsa greeted us as we sat down, and it took a while to look over the extensive menu. Since the carne adovada came so highly recommended, we both had versions of it - it's available solo, in a burrito, in enchiladas. Delicious! Suffice it to say that it impressed my NM friend so much that she expects to return to have it again. Large servings so we both had some to bring home. Will try to go back for another meal before we leave town. Open 8 am to 8:30 pm daily.

“Good Food & Pleasant Waitress”
Reviewed June 12, 2012

We are from Illinois and RANDOMLY picked Abuelita's Restaurant on our way back from a day trip to Chaco Canyon from Albuquerque. OUR NEXT VISIT WILL BE INTENTIONAL! The Food was very good and the selection was large. I had the Enchiladas Abuelita with green chili - I thoroughly enjoyed them. The included Sopapillas were very good, drizzled with honey. The waitress was friendly, helpful, and my glass was never more than half empty before she topped it off with more iced tea. The price was reasonable, the service was very good and the food tasted great - What more could you want in a casual dining establishment?

I loved Abuelitas Enchiladas with green chili and a cold beer. Friendly service, clean, reasonable prices.

“Enjoyed every minute”
Reviewed March 18, 2012

Usually go to Old Town or Santa Fe for our idea of good Mex food so it was a nice surprise to finally visit here after living nearby for 5 yrs (I think Weatherman Joe recommended the place once). Gave up on Hot Tamales, never liked Guardinos, and the new one at Cottenwood Mall is REALLY bad. The service was friendly and good; Soppapias were the best we've ever had. Loved the rice and beans. Favorite Mex place before we moved here was On the Border - asked them why they didn't have one in NM and was told they had to close cause no one liked it. Eaten great Mex food in CA, Ariz, and Mexico - been hard to find any we like in NM. Strange place for food overall.

“I took houseguests there for breakfast and it was the absolute most horrible food and most embarassing experience I have ever ha”

Cold food and scrambled eggs appeared left over from another day. Untrained, indifferent waiter who was clueless. We were speechless, and I will never go back.
