We were in there on Nov 16, 2012 and it was a very slow night, three tables being worked. We were seated immediately and had to wait for 15 minutes for the waitress to stop talking with the other wait staff and hostess before we were acknowledged and our drink and appetizer order was taken. Our drinks came within 10 mintes but we waited another 10 minutes for the appetizer. She came back around and took our order, the food came, then we waited another 15-20 mintutes after eating for her to come around, check on us, and start clearing the table. We arrived at 6:15 and got out of there at 8:10. I placed a bet with the friends we had dinner with that when she took our ticket to be paid at 7:45 that we would have to wait until 8 or longer for the ticket to come back. I won the bet. We left no ($0) tip and they charged us a tip on the transaction anyways after signature without our authorization. We had to call the bank to dispute the tip charge because management refused to return our call.

If you're planning a trip through New Mexico on I-25 and you're thinking of stopping in Albuquerque to eat, consider instead stopping in Belen, 30 minutes south of ABQ, for great burgers and fries at Harla May's Fat Boy Grill. The location is in the old Onate theater in "downtown" Belen, and when you walk in you'll see the original concession stand and the little lobby filled with antiques and kitschy items. The restaurant is in the multi-level theater. The screen is still there, a few rows of seats are still there, and the walls are covered with more antiques and blown-up old photos of local residents. But the best part is the food. They offer about a dozen different types of delicious burgers, all 1/2 pound, with creative names such as Wedgy Veggie (the vegetarian burger). They also offer buffalo and ostrich burgers. It was delicious! But the fries...oh my, the fries! I've been to Belgium and these fries even bested that. Apparently they are coated in corn meal or something before being fried. They are crispy on the outside and oh-so delicious. The burgers average about $7.00 and include fries. Don't miss it! Check their website for their limited hours.
