We booked a room with two queen beds. The room was huge compared to city hotel rooms. Immaculately clean. Staff very friendly. Breakfast was nice with hot items and even add-ins for oatmeal. The pool wasn't open yet for the season, but the area looked nice and well- kept.

I've stayed at this location five or six times over the past eight years, including two separate one-night stays during the week of April 1, 2018. Great service, friendly staff that are great with kids. Small enough to be personal, but big enough to offer good service. Free parking, easy access to Belen and I-25. Diner across the street! Breakfast is hot and very sufficient. Pool wasn't open yet this year but it's great in the summer. Makes me want to stay at other HIEs.

Room Tip: Two basic room types -- one king or two doubles -- and all are far enough from I-25 so highway traffic noise is not really a problem

Such a friendly staff, who set the tone for our visit with check in, first impressions can make or break a return visit....and these nice folks nailed it for a return at some point. Asked for a room on the top floor away from elevators, close to stairs and got exactly what we asked for. The room was spotless, and smelled good. The beds had four pillows apiece, the bedding was clean and white/white/white. The room comes with a microwave, small fridge, small coffee maker with a few supplies, and hair dryer in bathroom. Plenty of towels provided, with beds made daily and change out of towels consistent, this was a three night two day stay. Good TV with working remote, menu guide for channels provided with good selection and reception. Free basic breakfast and coffee provided. There is a close by small diner type restaurant "Pennys" close by, though across the highway in Belen more choices are available. Keep in mind Belen is a small basically farming community, and possibly a bedroom community for Albuquerque. So very clean, efficient, quiet away from traffic and friendly staff...what more could you ask.

The guest checkin staff member actually stood up and said hello when we first walked into the lobby. Hooray! He asked how our day had been, waited for our response, then asked how he could help us. This is an improvement over previous front desk staff who did not stand up and instead muttered something to the effect of 'do you have a reservation?' rather than welcoming us to their hotel. Thank you management for this change.

The cookies were there this time, whereas they weren't the last time we checked in...again...thank you management.

Breakfast omelets were fresh, and much tastier than the industrial scrambled eggs sometimes offered by Holiday Inn Express. Again, thank you management.

Lastly, I always enjoy watching how much food the local law enforcement personnel can put away while enjoying a good breakfast at this Holiday Inn Express. It's always good to see local merchants supporting their local law enforcement teams. Again, thank you management.

Great staff clean rooms. No hot tub. Pool is closed this time year apparently. Not many amenities to speak of but it is Belen. Not a lot of restaurant in area either. For the rooms and hotel would stay again I like clean.
