Owner description: Wind Horse Ranch and Riding club is a project rather a vision, seen collectively by Wind Horse Members. After meticulous planning into smallest details, this vision finally translated into reality in 2010. We started modestly with 3 horses, and grown into 7 horses for now and plans to make it to 15 horses by the end of 2013.It is located in scenic Tang Valley, Bumthang, Bhutan. The Farm land is being leased from Tang community. We have explored and carried out few trial runs. We have cleared some of the old trails, which were covered by overgrowth vegetation, due to minimal uses of the route. Our objectives are to provide enjoyable horse ride trek along scenic trails and villages both for tourists, as well as horse enthusiasts of Bhutan. We also hope to promote riding club membership as a fund raiser for good causes to the Bhutanese, and provide riding camps among the students and institutes in Bhutan. In doing, we hope that it will benefit local community by bringing more tourists, who would stay in the local farm houses and guest houses, use local food and services etc.

We recently visited Bhutan and had Wind Horse tours make all our arrangements.
They did an amazing job with taking care of all the fine details. KT ( our guide) and Balliman (driver) were great company and took care of showing us amazing Bhutan and bringing us back safely. We are going to ask for them next time we go to Bhutan

Wind Horse Tours provided excellent help and arranged a memorable visit to the fascinating country of Bhutan for a close friend and me during June, 2013. Ugen and Jambay in the main offices of the company couldn't have been more expert with the planning for the trip and, as a result, we had a perfect itinerary in consideration of our interests and of the time available. An extraordinary guide was chosen for us in the person of Yeshi Penjor, a charming, hard-working, intelligent, and sensitive guy with a wonderful sense of humor. Our driver, a well-known and totally-professional employee of Wind Horse, couldn't have been better, either, and negotiated some difficult roads with no problem. We cannot recommend Wind Horse Tours more highly.

My family and I just returned from a 10-day cultural trip via Windhorse Tours to Bhutan (June 2013) – it was beyond our expectations! From beginning to end, our trip was well-organized, comfortable, educational, relaxed, fun, inspiring, filled with joy and laughter, and we will always have nothing but incredible memories. Our guide Tashi was the key to our extraordinary experience and our driver Dawa equally fulfilled each detail of our successful journey.

It is difficult to express all the touching personal connections we had with Tashi and Dawa. We were traveling with our six year old son and were blessed to witness the beautiful cultural and good-willed nature of the Bhutanese through the friendship and kindness shown to our son. It left a lasting impression and we will always treasure the special time we shared.

In a world that moves too fast, we’ll always keep a special place in our hearts for Bhutan – gross national happiness is a mantra that teaches us an important lesson about life, what’s important, friendship and a reminder to always keep an open mind.

Dear Guests Thank you so much for the comments. We are so glad that you had terrific time with us.For us, It just can't get any better than being ravely reviewed in Trip Advisor. Firstly for making your trip memorable and being part of it, Secondly the consistent hard work being translated into positive results by being in guest's' good book. We, here, have acknowledge the importance of guides and drivers. The regular rendezvous, briefings, taking into account their suggestions and opinions have helped immensely. As an excellent guide can turn a trip into an experience of a lifetime. Conversely, a bad guide can sour a visit to the most astounding destinations. We have expressed our gratitude to Tashi And Dawa. And they have conveyed back the gratitude in same intensity. Tashi, Dawa and everyone here in Wind Horse Tours wishes you best of luck and we do hope that our path crosses again, of which, we look forward to.

Our family of four visited Bhutan for 12 days in March-April this year, and we had a very good experience using Wind Horse Tours, Treks and Expeditions as our tour company. From the day we were greeted at the lovely Pharo airport by our friendly guide and driver, to the day we left, we felt very welcome in this beautiful kingdom. It is hard to pick a highlight as there were so many to choose from: colourful festivals (including Paro Tshechu), scenic trekking, tasty picnics in green valleys (Tang Valley being one of our favourites), magnificent dzongs and temples, welcoming locals, delicious food (loved the Chilli Cheese) and stunning nature! Our driver, Jamyang, was very skillfull and navigated the often steep and curvy roads with excellence. Our guide, Leki, was always attentive to our needs and wishes and very knowledgeable. Both of them happily answered all of our questions and we felt like we got along very well. They certainly had a wonderful sense of humor, and we had so many laughs, there was never a dull moment. We also got to meet Jambay and Ugen for dinner in Paro, which we enjoyed very much!

We were very happy about the accommodation, especially Gangtey Palace in Pharo. Beautiful place set in a very nice location overlooking the town of Pharo. The Mountain Lodge in Bhumatang was not as luxurious, but very cosy and with a superfriendly staff. During our trip, the food provided in restaurants and cafees was tasty and varied. It was nice to be greeted with tea and biscuits everytime we arrived at a new place. We enjoyed watching archery and trying shooting with a bow and arrow ourselves in Tang Valley. While there, we also got invited into a farmers house for tea an snacks. As we wanted to se as much as we could of Bhutan there was some long drives, but we always had nice little breaks along the way and the magnificent scenery outside kept us entertained. Jamyang played traditional and modern Bhutanese music in the car, which we enjoyed listening to!

All in all we had an amazing time in Bhutan, and hope to come back someday! We can warmly reccommend using Wind Horse!

We booked a week in Bhutan with this company. They were fabulous! From the outset, when I booked the trip, the consultants Jambay and Ugen were patient and always quick to respond to any questions I had. As we were travelling with two children (5 yo and 10yo) and this was the first long haul trip we had done with the kids I had A LOT of questions! Once in Bhutan we had Yeshi as our guide and Kesang as our driver. They were amazing, Yeshi was obviously very proud of his country and very knowledgeable. He was also wonderful with our son.

If anyone is looking for a company to travel with, I can recommend this one wholeheartedly. They made eveything so easy and I will definitely be travelling with them again in the future.
