We stayed here six nights. The wood stove in the room worked well, the shower didn't--a strong trickle. (I sense that there were much nicer rooms on the property, but not sure if facilities were any better in them.) The Wi-Fi rarely worked, which got rather frustrating. It would have been better if they didn't have it at all. The hotel staff was friendly and attentive. But the true standout was the main waiter. A real pro. It was kind of surreal encountering such hospitality skills way out in the Bhutanese hinterland--like a Michelin starred restaurant waiter working at the Kountry Korner Kafe.

Stayed two nights. Very comfortable large chalet type room in new 2 storey block. Fire going on arrival. Good food and although they ran out of wine - we could restock in town. Service in restaurant was brilliant - a brother and several sisters have been there since 1999 and are a huge asset. Free wifi in restaurant. Good hot clean reliable shower. Great views of valley.

This guesthouse is hotel sized, with plenty of rooms in what we understood are 4 buildings. We were alone in one of the buildings, and it was dead-quiet, though we think one should expect quite a bit of noise when more rooms are booked, as there are gaps under the doors, and in places the separation between rooms is simple wood planks - rooms are completely reveted in wood giving a comfy atmosphere. Our room was clean, the bathroom a bit smelly at times. Beds were OK.

It is not a place for people who get easily cold at night, as it is only heated by your very own private wood stove. Fire it up before bedtime and you go to bed in a sauna, but middle of the night things cool down rapidly. We loved it!

The food was OK, and the people were very friendly and accommodating.

its food is excellent;

the services of the Hotel Manager is Wonderful and 1st class.

They offer free wi-fi services in the Restaurant.

BUT, they . hot water discontinued in the middle of my shower. My shower starts with warm water (not very hot, but still ok), then becomes cool, finally its freezing cold. I thought it is soemthing wrong with the boiler (the boiler is installed somewhere, I can't see its actually size, I guessed it may be a very small one!)

If they can sort out the hot water shower and drinking water, I have no doubt to say that they are prefect.

After our coronation trip in 2008 it was our 2nd stay at this most memorable Hotel - and nothing has changed. in fact to tzhe contrary we got one of the luxury rooms, the food was as fine like ever and everybody read any wish from your lips (wine, chilly , momos, rice etc.). All previous ***** ratings just describe what any travellor will find here and join us in our praise. Keep up, we will return !

We were here 5 nights in a 3 week visit to Bhutan. This was our favorite. We had one of the big rooms at the back... very large with sitting room, large bath & lots of hot water. Took awhile to get hang of Bukhari heater. It is very efficient! Food was hotel buffet as everywhere, but the best food we had and cheese omlette was great. Can walk to Jakar town (which burned while we were there and which will be relocated) You can also walk to the Swiss farm house for great cheese! Very very pleasant family runs the hotel
