“Ok for a stopover”
Reviewed November 10, 2012

A strange hotel! Could be good but just seems to not have things right. Staff were friendly. Ok for the one night we were there before getting the ferry to Phu Quoc. Breakfast was not good. Bot a place to be based for a long time.

Great view from the lift but shame they don't have some sort of bar or viewing area on the 19th floor.

In the near future looks like it will be next to a busy road as it looked a new bridge was going across the harbour area.

we check quite late in this hotel, at first it looks nice but inside the room it is... hm.
The size is okay for a suit but there is no shampoo in the bath room.
All furniture are tired and not in a proper condition.
The fancy shower looks dangerous since it is connected to electricity which made by chinese and can be dangerous.
The restaurant is even worst, chairs are for other purpose than seating, all tables are shaking, no cold drink, you have to drink with ice. It seems that since there are no guest they switch off the fridge to save energy.
We did not take the BF since we have to catch first flight but I thick we did not miss much.

Rooms: The outside and large clean front lobby looks nice but looks can be deceiving. We asked to look at the rooms before we agreed to book as we were staying there for 1 week. They showed us two rooms, the first was really small and could not fit our luggage (3 large suitcases) and the toilet was leaking, so we opted for the larger room with a king bed which was a little more expensive. This room was decent and spacious however, the bathroom was very small and the sink and showers were very poorly installed (plumbing is horrible). We left Rach Gia for Phu Quoc island but we were going to return in a week so we didn't want to take all our luggage. The hotel was able to hold our luggage for us until we got back. When we arrived back we did not have the same room, but the only available room was a smaller on another floor. We took it as we were only staying for another 3 days. The room had large windows which was nice but the room was a lot smaller, with the two of us and our luggage, it was a tight fit you could not lay your luggage on the ground. The bathroom was really small and there was a high tech looking shower that did not work properly. The shower door did not shut tight so water leaked to the floor. The faucets on the sink looked old and overall, everything just looked like it was slapped together with no attention to detail. One elevator always seemed to break down and the hall ways at times had no light so it was scary trying to get to your room.

On the upside, the staff were really nice and friendly. They all knew more than 3 languages. The free buffet breakfast was great and had a variety of Vietnamese dishes (I don't think there was any Western dishes which was fine with me). Breakfast area was spacious and always had room. We also often ate at the hotel for dinner as it was cheaper and cleaner than the restaurants outside. There is a patio outside or you can eat inside the dinning area where breakfast is served.

Overall, I would not stay here again as the rooms were small and the bathrooms terrible. The hotel is pretty far from shops although there is a shopping center nearby with KFC if you are craving fast food.

Room Tip: Opt for a larger room

We stayed here for one night before taking the ferry to phu quoc island. The hotel room was okay a couple of water stains on the walls and decor looked quite dated. The bathroom finish was poor...plastering left on tiles and a bit of mould. Sadly no hot water when we stayed either. We were early for breakfast as we needed to catch our ferry however that wasn't a problem for them, breakfast was standard we ordered scrambled eggs and sausages, the bread we were given was goreous though so fresh. :) however there were a couple of pesky ants on the table. All in all it was do-able when catching the ferry but all credit to the staff they are so friendly and always have a smile on their faces!

I stayed during april 2012 for my wedding. The room was very spacious and comfortable and clean, the 16th floor can see most of the city but the views are better at night. The coffee is very good. The condensed milk coffee with ice. The staffs are responsive and very decent.

Room Tip: Get a room that you can look at the see during the day and the city at night.

The hotel is pretty good, like the service, very nice people. Stay there couple nights before going to Phu Quoc. Well i guess that's the best hotel around and a high rise for hole view of Rach Gia( if u like the view from the top). But the area is not fully developed yet, so do expect for some third world street.(lol) Overall i must say very good.

Room Tip: corner room from 5th floor and up
