I went to Phu Cuoq with only a one night reservation, and the resort was fully booked for the next week (Beach Club). I therefore explored several of the resorts/hotels on Long Beach, asking about price/ evaluating them, until I came to Mai House: I immediately realized this was the place I wanted to stay, even if it is a bit more pricey than I normally allow for accommodation in this part of the world. The bungalows are set well apart in a lush and peaceful garden. They are spacious, relatively simple furnished (no TV or fridge, some with fan, others with fan/AC), but comes with a big bed surrounded by four poles holding the mosquito net. There is also a veranda in front where you can enjoy your views (garden or garden(sea). You have access to the best part of Long Beach, loungers being available for guests, as well as beach towels.
The restaurant had a diverse menu, served tasty food, and must have had some reputation, because there were always several visitors from other resorts. Staff were impeccable; attentive, warm and polite, whether they cleaned your bungalow, tended the garden or served at the restaurant. I will definitely stay at Mai House, if I ever go back to Phu Couq again!

We stayed at mai house for 5nights and it was perfect the cottages are gorgeous and spacious... each with their own balcony and well furnished-nice touches like the big four poster bed.... the surrounding gardens are well maintained.
We stayed towards the back of the resort and its was so peaceful.

The restaurant simply serves the best food on that stretch of beach and the staff are very professional and welcoming they respected our privacy and left us to enjoy our holiday.

We spend 80% of our year in hotels all over the world with our work and mai house is everything a hotel should be and more we would recommend it to anyone wanting a romantic break.
Price wise mai house is alot cheaper than alot of the surrounding accomodation that is rated higher on trip a advisor.

To make it short: We loved to stay at Mai House Resort and would definitely come back! It is located at the best spot of Long Beach - the beach is beautiful and clean. We had a seafront deluxe bungalow, which was really nice and spacious (with A/C). Breakfast was served at the seafront restaurant which serves some of the best food we had during our trip - try the beef skewers with lemongrass and chili! Gerard and all of the staff are attentive, friendly and always smiling. For sure, there are cheaper places to stay at - but then you hardly get a place in Vietnam where every staff member pays so much attention to detail (garden, beach, bungalow interior ...)!

The only drawback: At night, the fishing boats come really close to the beach - this is really noisy. Earplugs help a lot.

My husband and I planned to stay in Phu Quoc for five nights on our honeymoon and we ended up staying for two weeks because of Mai House. The food was amazing, the beach area was perfect for quiet rest after a busy year, and the bungalows were comfortable and sweet. Gerard and Mai, the owners, were very welcoming and attended to every detail. Their staff were professional and a pleasure to be around. Definitely go if you can!

We'd had a bit of a disastrous start to our short phu quoc holiday. The accommodation we had pre-booked was awful & basically stumbled on mai house when we took the wrong turn down to the beach.

As soon as we walked in we knew we wanted to stay here! The grounds are spacious and well looked after & the bungalows aren't all crammed in together.

We could only get 1 night but it was worth it! The bungalow was gorgeous. The nicest room we've had in Vietnam. The attention to detail was fabulous & after a few days of cold showers the hot water was a real treat!

Yes it's a bit more expensive but in my opinion it is brilliant value for money! I can't wait to go back & hopefully spend more than 1 night in this particular slice of paradise!
