Best location on the beach. Wonderful & quiet, perfect for couples both young & old.
Rooms were large, great bathroom with large shower which had great water pressure.
Beautiful set up at the beach with lots of space, plenty of sunbeds & set back from those walking along the beach. We walked the length & breadth of Long Beach & this was by far the nicest resort, had a boutique feel rather than many of the larger hotels which seemed tight for space.

We stayed 4 days at mai house in the end of our Vietnam trip and we really liked it. Our bungalow (garden view with fan) was very nice, clean, very comfortable bed and a mosquito-net cocoon around the bed made us feel very cozy:) Good night rest. The beach was great - a lot of palm trees to hide from the burning sun, one of the cleanest as we make a walk left and right:)
Our only issue was the restaurant - very slow, messing up orders all the time, expensive i comparison to nearby hotels, we only ate lunches there, so we can't say anything about food - club sandwich was ok:) But we found great restauant just few steps from the hotel left with fresh grilled seafood and nice music - much better then in mai house. But we really enjoyed our stay there - like in paradise:)

booked a super garden view, our room was nice, beautiful garden. But a bit far from the beach and the restaurant area.
beautiful room, nice decoration, King size bed. no TV, no mini fridge.
the breakfast was excellent and the food served in the restaurant as well, very high standards.

only issue has been the noise on the beach as they are building a second restaurant/ bar. anyway the beach on Mai House is not the best, I think that you can find better beach spots 5 min away by walking on the right, empty and quiet.

-> in general,I would say that Phu quote offers nice beaches BUT the Island is in construction. so all the roads, hotels etc... are building up. so yes we did enjoy our stay but i would advice to go there in few years...

We stayed 8 nights at Mai House resort end October, beginning November 2013. It was like paradise. We had a standard beach view cottage for us and our 2 children (6&8), the decor was lovely and although the rooms were basic they were a little notch up from other bungalows we'd used in the past. When we arrived we were a little surprised to see that there was no adjoining door to the kids room, just access via the verandah. This shocked us at first but we were able to get a spare key to the room so that we had a key also incase we needed to get into the kids room at night. This could have been mentioned on my original advise and I missed it.. was not a problem but if you have smaller children I would double check apon booking.. it wouldn't be suitable with littlies that wake through the night. The beach was lovely but unfortunatley there were some jelly fish hanging around in our last few days that the kids didn't like.. most days though it was clear waters and calm seas... great for floating around. The restaurant was really very very good.. we ate up and down the beach but mostey stayed there as they kids could wander back to the room while we finished off our dinner and wine... very relaxing! Staff were very friendly. The room price was quite high but a local bar owner explained to us that there is no power from the mainland and generators run on deisel and that alot of the food is bought in by planes as there is no refrigerated boats.. this explains the cost a little and also why there was no fridge in the room. Overall, this is a lovely place and we had a very relaxing 8 days. Gardens were lovely also..

Room Tip: make sure you have a cottage with an adjoining room if you have little ones!

We stayed at Mai House for 4 nights early November 2013.

We booked the Sea View Superior bungalow which was worth the money - 10m to the beach and a great view from the veranda. Still you can go for one of the cheaper ones as we did not really use the veranda.

The bungalow was clean, good-sized and nicely decorated. The staff comes around to prepare the moskito nets every night (next time pls loose the sheet first, otherwise the guests will have to prepare the moskito nets again), lits a candle and switch the veranda light on.

Be prepared you will share your room with geckos, few beetles and maybe a grasshopper. The staff was so nice to cath the latter for us. I am sure u will have that everywhere when you want to be so close to nature (beach bungalow). Still they could avoid the grasshoppers inside by not leave the windows wide open for fresh air every day.

The breakfast was good - egg station and pancake station and a good variety of fresh fruit that never ran out. For any other meals you should better go for different places. This restaurant is quite expensive with an average standard and below average portions. You can go to the restaurant 100m along the beach (to the south) ore to one of the ones up the hill.

The resorts own beach is amazing! Natural sunshades and enough sun loungers for everyone.

If you are ready to pay the price, this will be a good choice.
