“Great escape to paradise!”
Reviewed September 19, 2013

My company stayed here last October 2012 and it was definitely one of the most memorable time of us together. The resort is a little bit far from central town, taxi from the central to resort costs around 200,000 VND per time. But it was worth it! The staffs are friendly and food is good. We were in love with set menu for breakfast with loads of homemade breads, fresh fruits and some of local specialties in a beach front restaurant. They have a very long private beach-one of the most beautiful beach I've ever seen. Our room is called Fisherman, it is lovely and romantic.
I will definitely come back for my honeymoon :)

We had spent our holidays in mango bay resort from 7 to 10 Sept 2013. even it was not the good time to visit Phu Quoc but we found the nice atmosphere and excellent service in mango bay resort. The staff are nice and helpful. Thank you so much!
The beaches in Phu Quoc are wonderful. It was one of our perfect trip.
We will come back next summer for sure and still choose mango bay resort for our stay there.

My boyfriend and I visited Mango Bay during peak monsoon season in July. Obviously not the best time to go to the beach, but a fabulous time was had by both of us relaxing. We stayed in a private bungalow that had a great covered, outdoor porch with lounge chairs/cushions, a table and a fan. The inside had a great bed with mosquito netting, and out back was a fully outdoor bathroom with a garden. If you are someone who loves a good outdoor shower as much as I do this one was a real treat. The front porch was one of our favorite as we could lay out and listen to the rain, read, play games and enjoy a beverage/snack outdoors while not worrying about the rain. The rooms are kept cool with slatted roofs and there is no a/c (please don't complain about this, they post it on their website so you are aware pre booking).

On two of the days when it wasn't raining we did manage a great swim in the Gulf of Thailand. It was like bath water. During peak season they have kayaks for rent as well as a beachside bar that is open.

The main lodge was really nice and provided great views of the sea and allowed us to dine ocean-side and semi-alfresco. The meals were great. We did go off the resort two nights for dinner but we ate all of our other meals on the property. They were super reasonable for resort food, there were specials (at least 5) that changed daily, a great happy hour that included half priced cocktails and a free app, and the breakfast was delicious. We got huge bread and fruit baskets with our breakfasts, as well as juice and coffee and there were 4 or 5 choices for the main part of the meal. Dinners were made up of fishes, curries and other traditional Vietnamese offerings.

Another thing that was great was the turndown service. The maids would turndown the netting for the beds as well as light some mosquito repelling candles for us. An additional great amenity was the water jug. This could be brought to the lodge for fresh filtered water any time/as often as we pleased. Ice was also available (for a small fee) so that you could stock the eco friendly cooler in your room if you wanted. The butterfly garden was also really neat, and really gave us a feel for some of the species residing on the island.

The only con for me was the shuttle into town. The shuttle seemed to revolve around when people were returning to the airport and not follow any actual schedule. Thus, the shuttle tended to be mostly in the morning and come back from town very early. The town has such a wonderful night market that we thought it would be nice if there was at least one shuttle to/from town in the evening so guests could enjoy this without having to call a taxi to get to/from town and this would also enable ride sharing among guests which is a great eco-friendly initiative for this eco-friendly resort (we weren't brave enough to rent a moped on the unfinished roads, but that's our problem). Otherwise, the taxis are prompt and work just fine.

Room Tip: As for one of the plantation bungalows. These are more set back and allow for more privacy which is...

We stayed at Mango Bay from the 11th September for 4 nights and were very sad to have to leave this morning. This is our first time to Vietnam and we were absolutely pleasantly surprised with Mango Bay!

On arrival we were pleasantly surprised by the friendly staff that could all speak english and after almost 24hrs of traveling nobody is in a mood to struggle with the language barrier of a foreign country!

Our bungelow (P04) had the most beautiful see view and is in the middle between the restaurant and beach bar. The bungelow is tastefully decorated and we loved the rustic feel of it. No tv was the best part. My husband and i never run out of conversation with each other so for those people complaining about no tv, get back to basics and talk with your partner!

We definatley didnt mind that there was no stocked minibar as we could ask for what we wanted and it would be put in the cooler in our room for us (and we didnt mind taking it to our room ourselves either).

The one thing i must admit i missed was an AC, but it being an Eco friendly resort we were happy with the fans provided.

We were reminded how close to nature we were on our second night when we found a huge (harmless, but still scarry) spider in our room but my husband chased him out and we never saw him again. We had quite a few other "visitors" like geckos and snails but they are harmless as well.

The bathroom is the best part with it being in the open air. I must admit that after the spider incident i put my husband on bathroom duty and he had to check the bathroom with the torch provided eveytime i had to use it! Lol

The food was excellent and definately not expensive as some people claim. I will rather pay for good quality and get what i ordered than go to town and order an ice tea and get a hot cup of tea with a piece of lemon! We didnt have one meal that we could complain about.

The staff, were do i start! From reception, to the restaurant staff, to Charles the Assistant Manager and even Ms Ha and Arlon the beach bar staff, everyone went out of there way for us and really made our stay unforgettable.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

We highly recomend Mango Bay to anyone that needs a rest, away from city life and all the spoils that come with it.

Room Tip: Bungelow P04 has the best unobstructed see view and we would walk straight across the lawn to the be...

We stayed in March this year and loved it. Wonderful staff, great location and the restaurant was superb. A perfect end to our holiday. The Plantation room we had was great and we loved the outside bathroom. If I could change one thing it would be to have stayed longer.

Everything was perfect from the beginning: pick-up at the airport and warm welcome by a friendly staff. Our sea view Plantation bungalow was great with its balcony, large room (but no king-size bed...) and an outdoor bathroom with plants and flowers. There are two nice beach areas, one with a large bar to enjoy the sunset which is extremely rare in Vietnam! The restaurant is only 3 meters from the sea. The meals are really good (the price is more expensive than outside which is ok according to the sea view, the quality of the products and the service) as well as the breakfast!
We will definitly come back to this resort for our next trip to Phu Quoc!

Well maintained resort with super friendly staff and nice beaches. Food in restaurant and breakfast is also very good. Do rent a motorbike to view the island. Perfect resort for ultimate relaxation in Vietnam!
