A true tropical paradise. Most of it has been said before, this place is a serene, friendly and enjoyable island getaway. In my opinion this resort lends itself to couples and small groups of people aged in their late 20's - 40's. Having said that the resort does cater for all people.
The staff, of which there are many, are genuinely happy, cheerful and helpful. There is a sense of pride working for this resort.
The resort is very well looked after. I walked to the neighboring properties and there is a clear difference. Namely the cleanliness of the grounds and beach. There is a concerted effort to clear rubbish at Mango Bay.
We stayed in a Fishermans Bungalow. Pay the extra for the sea view as it's worth it. The rooms are great. Yes there are no mod cons like air con, bright lights etc but this is an eco resort. I really enjoyed the bungalows as it really enabled me to relax and put modern life behind. That being said they are still spacious and well appointed. I loved the outdoor bathroom!
I had the most amazing massages and spa treatments at the wellness centre. Staff here are well trained, the rooms are very clean and it's magical receiving a massage by the ocean with a cool breeze blowing.
The main restaurant offers fantastic cocktails. Being right on the ocean makes for a spectacular view, especially at sunset. Whilst many on here rave about the food I was a little underwhelmed. I found the Asian dishes tending to be more Thai style with very limited Vietnamese food. The Viet food on offer wasn't that great to be honest. I personally would have preferred the Asian dishes to be more spicy, however I simply added some fresh chilli. Overall I found some dishes really good, others mediocre. Again I think the menu could benefit from many more Vietnamese dishes and maybe some training of the chefs to produce more authentic viet dishes.
I will be coming back again, and would love to organise a small group of friends to join in this magical experience.
