Saigon Phu Quoc Resort
Ranked #20 of 108 Hotels in Phu Quoc Island
Certificate of Excellence

As Australians we were very much in the minority in this resort. Most visitors were Vietnamese families and Russians. This Resort more than makes up for its slightly aging appearance by the friendliness of the staff and the level of thought that goes into providing every possible amenity one could think of.
Its location is superb for beach as it is right on the sand and it is one of the closest resorts to the Night Seafood Market, a must do when in Phu Quoc. The area feels safe when walking at night, the rooms all seem to have balconies and many are scattered along the seafront. Big comfortable beds, pillow menu, good showers. Tours desk seems expensive compared to other options available around town.
Pool area is large and sheltered from Westerly winds that prevail during Wet Season.Water deliciously warm and sparkling clean. Largely deserted during the heat of the day. Breakfast selection vast, did not eat at resort otherwise.
A word of advice, Phu Quoc in general is more expensive than mainland Vietnam so be prepared for a slightly greater impact on your daily expenses budget, tho not enough to detract from a visit to this holiday island

Nice located not far from towncenter. Beach, garden and nice. Rooms are average. The breakfast was good but they didn't refill In time, so there was constantly something to wait for. BUT the garden restaurant was horrible. We waited for 1,5 to 2 hours for avverge food. They lost controle. At our table one person had to wait half an hour arfer the others had finished eating. Tables were served our of order. When we asked the staff the ansvered "just a minute now", for moret han an hour. This happend two days In a row. The rest of our holiday we dined outside the hotel.

What can I say, I loved this resort. For the value, we got a screaming great midweek deal for our group and then they upgraded us to a VIP room. From the moment we walked into the lobby we felt VIP. After a long road travelled through Cambodia, across the Viet Nam border and ferry to Phu Quoc, we really were ready for some VIP treatment. The resort and it's staff really gave us that treatment. Everything was within reach for us, whether on the beach, poolside, or in our rooms. Taxis, Mopeds, Night Markets all within reach. We loved the free bicycles too! It could be just as easy to never leave the resort as everything you need was there from golfing, pingpong, poolside, terrific breakfast buffet and BBQ at night. The proximity was perfect to town and to other island areas. If you can get a deal on this resort, go for it!

Although the room was ok the balcony furniture was not at all comfortable . It did have a view to the sea but with the balcony in full sun pretty much all day it was too hot to sit out and extremely bright , a little shade over the top would have rectified this .
The sea food buffet / barbe was not very good at all in fact I am convinced it gave me an upset stomach the next day while having to travel home , not nice . I ate some pork ribs and chicken wings which my wife did not and she was fine the next day , so with a lot of asia refrigeration was not a priority resulting in the aforementioned . The service staff were useless , we had to go searching for them regularly and we were in the bar ! we usually found them huddled together on their iphones !! I blame the owners for this as they clearly do not train their staff .

Firstly, it's a great resort, located close to town but in a quieter part of the beach which is good for relaxing.
Staff are very friendly,
Plenty to do, gym, tennis, chess, DVD's in room, golf, very nice pool, plenty of loungers and nice sea area to swim in.

Get a drink and go down to watch the sunset by the beach bar.

Great choice for breakfast, big extensive buffet.

But.
Don't bother with some of their overpriced services, massage is 3 times cheaper a small walk up the beach to the locals, buy beer/ water / snacks at local shop across the road, who do your laundry as well for a fraction of the cost.

There is a much better restaurant for dinner across the road, called "hai nam" nicer food and much better value.

Great place to stay but the cost of incidentals will add up quickly.
