We ate at Mango Bay twice during our one week holiday in Phu Quoc and would say it is one of the best restaurants on the island.

Great seafront location, divine seafood and fabulous wine. Eating here is of fine dining quality but in a rustic traveller-friendly setting so it is very relaxing.

Anyone visiting must try the prawn thai curry or the red snapper in banana leaves-absolutely delicious.

If you are staying here or nearby then don't miss it!

Stayed at Mango Bay for 3 nights and ate all meals at the Mango Bay restaurant. That is about the right length of time to go through all of the Vietnamese/Asian selections without repeating. Favorites include satay platter, Vietnamese fish in curry sauce (can't remember the Vietnamese name), fried snapper, pork in clay pot.

Had lunch and a few drinks at Mango Bay during our stay in Phu Quoc. The ambiance was very nice - great views of the rocks and water and a casual chic design. The food is super fresh - much of it grown on-site, and it shows. Everything was delicious, colorful, and so flavorful. We shared a bottle of wine and the grilled scallops with peanuts, the crab three ways, the steamed clams in a lemongrass broth, and the red snapper grilled with peppers, onions, zucchini, carrots, lime, lemongrass and bok choy. The snapper and the crab wrapped in thinly sliced mango were definitely highlights, and the service was very good.

Overall we had an excellent meal here, but I only gave it four stars for a couple of reasons: 1) the cost is considerably more expensive than almost every other restaurant on the island. While I realize this is partly because of the commitment to growing the ingredients locally (which I fully support) and partly because the restaurant is tied to a popular resort, it is at least 3 times the price of many other highly rated places, many of which are also using very fresh ingredients. 2) we were unfortunately swarmed by a ton of flies about halfway through our meal. Not the restaurant's fault, but it seems prone to happen with their location an open-air layout, and it made it pretty tough to enjoy the rest of the meal.

The other thing to keep in mind if you aren't staying there is that it is pretty far off the beaten path. This is not a reason not to go by any means - I think it is absolutely worth trying if you are in Phu Quoc. But be prepared for a pricier bill than you might be used to and a bit of a trek to get there.

One of the best on island but you may sometimes find flies in your drink or tainted prawns in your brilliant seefood mains. So be cearfull. But anyway must to visit even if you are staying far from here.
They have child menu and it helps a lot to parents with kids.
