We ate here four or five times during our visit to Pho Quoc and sampled quite a bit of the menu. Having eaten mostly Vietnamese food for the previous five weeks, we were very happy to have some affordable and tasty western fare. The falafal were greasy and bland, but everything else was quite wonderful. The chorizo with cherry tomatoes was particularly rich and tasty (and a quite generous serving.) The bacon wrapped dates with blue cheese were lovely. The bacon wasn't too crispy, but the flavor was wonderful. The couscous salad with chorizo and feta was filling and had many great flavors and textures. When I ordered the meatballs with mashed potatoes, they were out of beef and made lamb meatballs instead which were exceptional. All this was served with a smooth and rich cream sauce. My favorite was the Mondo Madness sandwich. Probably the best western sandwich I have had in Vietnam--even better than the sandwiches at Dingo Deli in Hoi An.
Both their drip coffee and Vietnamese coffees were strong and delicious. They also serve some European beers which were a great break from all the light Vietnamese pilsners we had been drinking. Their wines by the glass were quite fine and affordable.
Best of all, their service has been unparalleled. The staff are quick and courteous. Some speak better English than others, but all are quite able to facilitate a wonderful dining experience. Highly recommended.
