“Excellent lunch.”
Reviewed February 27, 2014

We booked a Boodle Fight lunch for 5 people at the Villa Socorro and it proved to be a perfect end to the day after rappelling to the Falls in the morning. I thought it strange that we had to make a bank deposit for half of the total cost of the meal several days in advance, but after seeing the trouble the staff went to when cooking the food for us, I could understand why they insist on this. We were given a good variety of dishes, all of which were very tasty and the portions were so huge that we were able to take a lot of leftovers home with us.

We also really enjoyed the short walk around the property, ending up at a beautiful tranquil spot overlooking the river. There are cattle, horses and water buffalo tethered close by and it is so calming just sitting by the riverbank, watching the young girls opposite hand washing their clothes in the river, whilst making the most of both the total silence and the sunshine.

We'll definitely go back and probably stay overnight next time. Many thanks Raymund.

Anton made our short trip to Villa Socorro interesting. The room is average, but the effort made by Anton and his staff made our stay comfortable at the Farm. Food is truly excellent, and we enjoyed our bananas as dessert.

I was planning a sweet escape for my gf for our anniv but i got no time for planning a suprise...so i ended up thinking just going to pagsanjan and just work from there but a day before our trip i went online to somehow check what we could do and go from there and also try if i could get a booking somehow...while browsing i manage to get an eadd and a number..i made an email and also call the number..mr aaron answered and told me i should have done it a week before since its their policy..but he was very accomodating and manage to have a room for us and God bless him, he even upgraded our room..we arrive there morning to go to the falls for it was the package i booked..my gf and i enjoyed the rapids and the magnificent falls and was very happy to see a beautiful place like it... and by lunch time we checked in...the hotel did a good job for my suprise to my gf..a boquet and a bed full of flower petals in the bed...she was so happy with it and i cant even describe the smile on her face when she saw it..also the food was so delicious that every after meal we are so full that we cant even move! Our diet is ruined but it was worth it! Hahaha the resort staffs are also very friendly and accomodating as well, specially the cook manang and angelo our tour guide..we only stayed there for a night cause of our busy work at the airport but it was just a time well spent...an awesome place for couples like us, for a family trip and even for group happenings! Will definitely recommend this place..:)

We only had a one day to visit pagsanjan and had planned to just do the boat tour to the rapids in the morning, followed by a leisurely lunch in the town before heading back to manila. I searched online for good eating places and realized that almost all were based in the urban areas. I chanced upon a good review of Villa Socorro from Trip Advisor and decided to reserve our lunch there. They offered a simple but hearty menu made from farm-grown produce; i decided that a farm experience for my kids would be a refeshing break as well. We werent disapponted! Plus, Mr. Aaron helped us with all the arrangements for the boat ride itself (boat dispatch to the falls is now centralized, and it is discouranged to deal with street runners/bikers). Leaving Manila bright and early at past 5am, we got to Pagsanjan at around 7am and had a quick breakfast at hmm... Good ol Jollibee Pagsanjan then proceeded to Riverview Resort ( very near Villa Socorro) for the rapids tour. Now THAT in itself is a different high altogether -exciting and definitely a must do, it was my kids' first time to do that and thoroughly enjoyed every minute. Of course we got soaked but the resort allowed us to have complete showers and we changed to fresh clothing before heading to Villa Socorro for lunch. By that time we were VERY ready for lunch! Entering the gates of Villa Socorro, one is greeted by lush and neat greens and a short trellis walkway strait to the dining hall. It was a friday and we were the only ones there so it felt like a private lunch. While the food was being set up, the kids explored the place and found the gardens, playground, treehouse and many kinds of fruit bearing trees. We had freshly cut buko juice and the kids loved the Chicken Inasal ni Tay Manuel. After lunch we trekked to the nearby riverside where there was a little cottage/shed overlooking the river. Imagine a quiet probinsya scene- A man was midstream with his fishing basket, a woman washing clothes on the opposite bank, beside her were a bunch of small children frolicking in the water, some in their birthday suits ( far enough not to require censoring from our kids' eyes), jumping off from a cluster of big rocks near the shore. Something like what you would see in an Amorsolo painting! There were also three white cows grazing on our side of the bank, so the kids were inches away from them, up close. In this trip, the kids also got to see chickens, roosters, dogs, cats, goats and in nearby Caliraya where we went later that afternoon, horses. Our Villa Socorro visit was truly worth it, far exceeding value expected. Congratulations to the Aaron family for developing this rural haven, a refreshing oasis in a town that is poised to highly urbanize. My only regret- i forgot to get the famed Sabanana Chips from the villa itself, and had to make do with some packs from Aling Taleng's Halo-halo shop downtown. Also, we didnt have time to stay in the rooms, but next time we visit Pagsanjan, we will try to stay longer and we now know where to stay!

What a pleasure it was to stay here, pity we only had one night. Raymund Vincent Fernandez Aaron (General Manager) was wonderful to deal with in booking our stay before we left Australia. He kindly let us stay on a Thursday night, even though they are normally only open to guests on weekends (this also meant we were the only guests there). We were warmly greeted by Angelo when we arrived and taken on a personal tour of the property, which included a trip to the local river and a swim. The vegetable garden is amazing and it's just great to see what the Aaron family's vision has achieved. We enjoyed the collection of farm animals on the property & hand feeding the lone water buffalo with fresh bananas! The cottage accommodation was very comfortable and air conditioned - we appreciated the fact that our girls had their own room (next to ours in a cute cottage). The food (which we arranged when we booked) was magnificent, particularly enjoyed the chicken with green papaya. We discovered that Angelo is a very accomplished chef, tour guide and wonderful host who ensures the guests' experience is memorable (thank you Angelo).

We also arranged massages for us all at short notice (these were great). Our experience at Villa Socorro was the highlight of out trip to Pagsanjan. We visited the falls after breakfast on the Friday morning and were able to come back to our rooms, shower and check out.

Highly recommend Villa Socorro. It would be good for a group of friends/families to unwind, relax and connect with nature in a rural Philippine setting which promotes sustainable living. We loved it.

We had a very relaxing stay. Service is excellent. Staff are so nice. The farm owner even spent some to time chat with us. Food is great. No swimming pool but the farm is beside a river.

A visit to Pagsanjan Falls (shooting the rapids) is a must do. HIghly recommended.

Room Tip: Be sure to buy their Sabanana Chips.
