Rindu Alam Resort Berastagi

In general our experience was not good here.
The only good thing are the hot water pools with water from the volcano.
Rooms are dirty and very very basic. Not hot water and no shower. Had to "mandi" shower from a bucket. For the price we expected better.
The place was really noisy from early morning to late at night and hotel restaurant pretty much only had nasi goreng.
One room we rented could not even be locked properly since the door lock was not functioning. The hotel staff tried to fix it but did not succeed and no other room was said to be available.

Me and my partner really liked this resort, the scenery around the resort is very nice and natural. The resort is perfect for honeymooners who long for peace. If you will travel with large families dont forget bring enough food because the resort is quite far from Berastagi town.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
On route from Medan Rindu Alam Resort Berastagi is 8 km before the main city of Berastagi Desa Semangat Gunung. This location has a geothermal 5.65 MW power generation plant (Pertamina Geothermal Energy site managed by PT Dizamatra Powerindo). Rindu Alam Resort has 11 rooms and a Villa with 2 bedrooms, a basic kitchen, and a fireplace. There are 11 hot spring pools to soak in. Rindu Alam is as its name says - a nature place surrounded by mountains. It is by far one of the better places in Indonesia to really get back to nature and be amazed by the geothermal power of the region. This is not a luxury hotel - but rather a veey unique place to enjoy the outdoors. The villa has rosemary and dill growing right in front - both of which we used in our cooking while there. Contact Mr. Sudarta, the owner who speaks English quite well. He took very good care of us while we were there and overall Rindu Alam remains one of the highlights of our trip to Berastagi (June 2012). I can write more with pictures later. ... more   less
