Owner description: The USS Liberty Wreck is the most famous dive site in Bali. It is also one of the best sunken ship wrecks in the world! If you come to Bali, you absolutely have to dive there The liberty ship was hit by a Japanese torpedo then was beached near Tulamben. In 1963, the eruption of Mount Agung caused the vessel to slip off the beach, and it now lies on a sand slope in 9 to 30 m of water. The wreck is about 130 m long with the shallowest part at about 5 m deep and the deepest on the other side of the wreck at about 30 m deep.

My partner and I did a 2 day dive here to finish up our PADI Open water certification and we're still talking about it. The biodiversity at the Liberty site was amazingly beautiful. It was definitely the highlight of our Bali trip. Can't wait to go back and do it again!

Diving the USS Liberty was great and teeming with life. I did two tanks just on this site and loved both of them, and for the price it is hard to beat. Two tanks with all equipment, guide, and camera (which I highly suggest) only cost me Rp500k. There are places to swim through and life ranges from small animals to sea turtles and large fish.

Hello,
Thanks for sharing your expérience but unfortunetly i think you would like to comment THE DIVE SITES of TULAMBEN not "BARUNA TULAMBEN". Baruna Tulamben is a dive center in Tulamben. This is a wrong location for this comment.
Thanks for your understanding.
Regards

Walk right off the beach to this wreck. No long boat ride.
Diving in the off season meant it was very quiet and not too many other divers round.
Shame I did not spend more time here.

I stayed in Tulamben (Matahari) which made it possible to do this dive (3x) in the early morning. Recommenable. A lot of fishlive and even blacktip sharks. A word of advise, please stay in the direct surrounding which allows you to do early morning or sunset dives.

Very easy dive.
No wreck certification required.
Able to snorkel on.
Easy to access, although stones on beach could be difficult for some people.
