We stayed in the beach side room which included day bed overlooking the ocean. Highly recommend this room if you have a non-diver wanting to read or meditate while waiting for divers to return. The gardens are well established and well maintained making for a relaxed ambience.

We really had a pleasant stay at Mimpi Tulamben. We stayed at the deluxe cottage room. The inside is beautiful and spacious. It also has a small 'bale' in front of the room where you can relax the whole day. The garden is beautiful and it makes this place cool, even in a supposedly super hot area of Tulamben.
The best part of the hotel is the swimming pool. the infinity pool by the beach is something you'll miss after you check-out from the hotel.
The breakfast was sufficient. If you come to Tulamben, please don't expect to have a buffet breakfast at any hotel in the area, It definitely won't happen. The area is hot and extremely humid at the same time, therefore serving buffet breakfast possess a great risk of the food becoming bad so easily. That's why i'm happy with the a'la carte options here. By the way the rbeef endang here is good as well as the pizza. Much better than any other place in Tulamben.
The only thing i don't like is the spectators offering massage to the guests massage all the time and they're always sitting on the sun lounger. The number of sun loungers are already limited, so when they sit there, there's chance you won't get any, and the hotel staffs do nothing about it.
Apart from it I'm very satisfied and will definitely come back whenever i want to see the USS Liberty.

Just arrived home from a 10 day diving tour of Bali. As a non diver on this trip, I had the opportunity to spend extra time at this resort. I found the cleanliness just below Bali standards, but with some complaining, I finally got it to where I could at least spend the required 3 days here. The staff was less than friendly and accommodating as we had encountered at our previous stop at Adi Assri. Any requests for local information were met with blank stares and much conversation in Indonesian amongst staff. This always resulted in head shakes and no information, which left us to strike out on our own to discover what this area had to offer. Unless you are a diver or a snorkeler and want to see the Liberty Wreck pass this area by. Just an observation on seeing the wreck, go early, before 10 AM. After that is is a hive of divers & snorkelers all on top of each other. Lots of good bars & restaurants with the Safety Stop just down the street as a notable as the food at Mimpi was hit and miss.

Room Tip: We were given a group of rooms right on the busy main street. When requests for different rooms or e...

We recently stayed here for 2 weeks on a dive holiday. We picked this accommodation thinking that it would be the best in the area, and we also had one non-diver in the group, so thought at least she should be comfortable and relaxed in this resort.

I thought it was a bit strange that on the first evening, the spa attendant hovered around and tried to sign me up for a massage 4 times while we were sitting at the table clearly trying and failing to catch a waiters attention to order food and drinks.

The service was extremely lacklustre. At the restaurant, orders were forgotten, we were ignored at the table, even though on a couple of occasions we were the only guests to serve, and when the wrong dishes were brought to the table (as was a regular occurrence) no attempts were made to correct the order!

Unfortunately too, during the day, hawkers appear by the resort's deck chairs, which is not the peaceful escape that you would expect for the price we were paying.

Due to our disappointment in the service - which is drastically out of line with the price of the resort - we chose to eat out frequently for breakfast, lunch and dinner (even though breakfast was included) and did all of our diving with a different resort, which was thankfully a much more pleasant experience!

Mimpi seems quite run down and it seems like there is little care or attention to detail in service.

A small hotel, this is where Bali Scuba booked us during our dive safari. On the seafront, it has beautiful views but no beach and anyway there are no beaches in Tulamben. The rooms are a bit dark, but might be cool in summer. However, we didn’t spend much time in our room, preferring to hang out at a nearby restaurant where Bali Scuba had arranged our lunches. The rooms are large and comfortable and cleaned daily, the linen and towels clean, the reading lamp was good. There is nice patio with a comfortable sofa and chair. The little ponds outside each room are very pretty as is the garden. The outdoor bathroom/toilet was new experience for us, and though private, clean and with sufficient hooks and racks to dry your clothes and hang your towels, might not suit everyone.
The staff are pleasant and service is good. Other than asking for insect repellent as soon as we checked in, we had no reason to call on their services. A plus for any hotel, I think. However, the sliding doors were not effective in keeping out small insects, but surprisingly mosquitoes weren’t a problem and I slept fitfully.
Breakfasts, included in our package, were adequate. We were introduced to Bali coffee and enjoyed it. Dinners were average, although I‘d order only grilled food if I were to return as the fried rice, noodles and other local dishes were very oily. The service was good. It was very quiet when we stayed here and I found it relaxing. The infinity pool is small and pretty; but why swim in a pool when you have the sea? Other than diving and snorkelling there is nothing else to do in Tulamben, so do your research before you go there to avoid disappointment. I would stay here if we return to Tulamben to dive at Liberty wreck.

Me and my family stayed there for 2 nights for new year. The room was smell very bad; Breakfast was not good and poor quality, so many flies, the waiter/waitress were very lazy, not friendly; Service also very bad and lousy; even when we checked out, the front office staff said that we haven't paid for the deposit, which is impossible if we haven't paid the deposit they allowed us to sleep in the room...and then when we upset, the front office staff willing to looking for the receipt, 1st she said none, and when we open from the internet, she found it...and still she was asking the name of the deposit....seemed like this hotel try to cheat. NOT RECOMMENDED AT ALL!!!!

First let me say the people that have given this place a bad review are on Crack !
The rooms are awesome although we stayed in a deluxe cottage ! clean beds and sheets ,Safe for valuables, fridge, air cond,NO BAD SMELLS OR MOSQUITOS,bottled water every day (free) ,great movies on cable every night ! fantastic bathroom lovely place to just walk around at night time GR8 pool too although cold ! nicest place in Tulamben ! clean rooms and very attentive staff we Stayed 7 nights and Dived every day ! Teja the DM was awesome we did 13 dives in the area the restaurant food was good although in the higher price range for Bali ,free WIFI too not bad for a fishing village ,The staff are to be totally trusted i left my wallet in my room with 500,000 RP in it and when i returned my wallet and all the money was there after they had cleaned and made up my room! the Bale Bengongs are a nice touch if you want to relax or read or just fill out your dive log and look at photos, and the outdoor showers are fantastic If your into Diving and want to dive the USAT Liberty this is the place to stay ,we saw Barracuda,Stone Fish,Lion Fish,Leopard (spotted) Eels Ribon Eels,Octopus and a turtle plus many others, nothing to do in Tulamben if you dont dive or at least Snorkel ! best place to eat in town is Wreck Divers up the road from Mimpi on the Right hand side (Volcano side) ask for Marde and order a Marky Mark Special like a Smoothy made fom Arak :) Yum ,have already planned our return trip for 2013.You can get supplies from two shops in Tulamben Smokes, water, chips, shampoo etc most places to eat have free WIFI Nice quiet little fishing village if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of Kuta etc make sure you get a massage from one of the local women about 100,00 rp for an hour does wonders after a day of Diving ! Next time we wont stop for 7 nights that was prob too long i think 4 would be enough :) Throughly enjoyed my stay at Mimpi :)

Room Tip: Stay in the Deluxe Cottages ! :)
