This dive resort is outstanding. The accommodation is excellent as are the grounds, the pool and dive facilities as well as the staff. We found the food at the Restraunt to be not so good apart from the Indonesian breakfasts which are included in the tarif. The Balinese people who run this resort are very helpful and go out of their way to support guests.

There is a spa here but we didn't use it so can't rate it

Room Tip: We went for the standard garden cottages. They are excellent value at $45 a day including breakfast

We could have stayed forever!! This was by far the highlight of our six week holiday around Bali. The resort is beautiful, and within walking distance to the liberty wreck if you like diving! The food was great at the restaurant. If your into scuba, Uji was a great guide! We went to lots of different dive locations around Tulamben and always found the best macro subjects to photograph! We travelled with three kids and they had a great time, swapping between the pool and the beach...it was great!!

Myself and my husband recently spent 4 nights at liberty dive resort and had a great time. The rooms were big and clean and the gardens and pool area were well looked after. For us the key was the hotel staff. They were extremely helpful and went out of their way to deal with any requests we had. They made everything very very easy to organise. We had laundry done, massages etc. and went on a half day drip with the hotel driver, Ketut (definitely recommend -he's a great source of info) and it was all at very reasonable prices.

We had primarily come to dive and weren't disappointed. The gear was all in great condition and our guide,Tisnu, was really excellent. As some of the other reviewer's have mentioned he was skilled at finding things we would never have spotted, pygmy seahorses, many types of shrimp, frogfish, ghost pipefish etc. etc. every dive we saw something new.

The food at LDR was fine, we ate in the restaurant a few times and tried out the others along the street. The Safety Stop was our favourite.

Overall I would definitely recommend LDR. We stayed in quite a range of accommodation over a 3 week holiday ranging from 5 star in KL down to more basic and LDR was by far our favourite hotel on our trip and probably the best value too.

My wife and I were in Tulamben recently for a week of diving with a group from Perth. From the moment we arrived at LDR we were made very welcome, we had a garden cottage that was very clean and well appointed with a nice big comfy bed.
The diving set up was first class with free nitrox on every dive for those that were qualified.
Our dive guide discussed with us our options for each days diving, he took care of preparing all our gear and at the end of each days diving he rinsed and dried ready for the next days diving. We dived at the usual place close to Tulamben like the wreck, Drop Off, Coral garden we also went a little further to Seraya Beach and Kubu for some great muck diving, the dive guides were all very good at finding well camouflaged critters to photograph.
We had most of our meals at the resort which were reasonably priced and a reasonable choice.
There is a small reasonably well appointed shop not far from the resort for basic essentials like beer wine bottled water etc.
The Safety Stop restaurant is a nice alternative for a meal if you want to get away from the resort for a change we had lunch there several times.
Well known Australian photo journalist Jeff Mullins and his wife Dawn live not far from Tulamben, several people in our group spent a day with Jeff on a one to one photography course which was well worth the time and cost.
We will be staying at LDR on future trips

Lovely resort in a great dive location. Basic rooms offering all we required for a perfect dive week. Good value for money resort nice rooms close to Usat liberty. Very welcoming friendly and genuine staff. dive guides were professional knowledgable and respectful. The restaurant was basic but offered a comparable and good value menu. Overall a very nice feel to this place and I can definately recommend.
