The reason we chose Kamuela Villas Seminyak was because of the reviews and the place lived up to those reviews. Yes you could make negative comments that would affect the review but overall the villa we stayed in was very good. If I were to make a slightly negative comment then it would be that the villa will need some refurbishment over time and hopefully they have already implemented a programme of refurbishment. Notwithstanding that, the service, the villa and the overall feeling of being left to our devices was well worth the stay. The breakfasts were awesome and they always called before bringing the breakfast to the villa. The same applied to the cleaning of the villa, they always checked, if we were in and if it was convenient. The pool was fine for cooling off and the rooftop, private and sunny was a bonus. Someone mentioned the road outside the villa being bumpy and not very good - Agree but you know it wasn't that bad and as someone said, it is Bali! The restaurants were nearby and we really never ventured much beyond those places to eat - all being within walking distance. Ebien Spa, forget it, cheap yes but not very professional, the restaurant connected to Bali Deli is good - the Soto Ayam was excellent, the Queens Indian excellent and the Belgian restaurant opposite was very good. Basically we had nothing to complain about and the stay was relaxing and enjoyable and if we needed to go off somewhere then complimentary transport was available for the immediate local area. Thank you Kamuela Villas - we will be back!

My partner and I stayed for 19 nights at the Kamuela Villas in Seminyak. The rooms are just gorgeous, food was really nice, the pool was clean, the shuttle service was great and the staff were outstanding. Location is excellent is you don't want or need to be right on the beach, however, you can ask the villa shuttle car to drop you at the beach if you want to go there or walk there. The villa is located in a lane way not far from the main street . Bali Deli is a fantastic place to eat or buy at the bakery or to do general shopping and there is a money changer inside the shop. Warung Jerami is an excellent restaurant just up a bit further from Bali Deli and near that is a massage place where good, cheap massages, facials, pedicures etc can be had. The staff were so helpful in trying to attend to our every need and they were so friendly and polite to everyone. I highly recommend these villas. If you have small children you may need to consider pool safety as the pool isn't fenced off. One night we had dinner by candle light and they filled the pool with petals and candles.....very romantic...perfect place to propose to the one you love. The Balinese people are honest and hard working and they respond well to tourists being pleasant back to them. Learn a few Balinese words....they love it. Thankyou Kamuela Villas for such an amazing stay.

Room Tip: The pool is so much warmer in the double villas because they get more sunlight. Plus there is no roo...

We stayed in the 2 bedroom villa with our 1yr old baby for 4 nights & I wish it was longer! It was the perfect set up with our bub in the 2nd room which meant privacy and a great nights sleep for everyone. The decor is a bit of a mix between modern, Balinese & early 90s. But with so much space. & high ceilings it didn't matter.
The access is off a dodgy road but it's not that bad & with a complimentary shuttle it didn't bother us.
Great location for all the spas, shopping etc.
The villa was super spacious with huge bedrooms, huge lounge, kitchen area, full size fridge & a large pool & plenty of grass for our little one to play on not to mention the water feature that provided atmosphere & hours of entertainment.
The breakfast was brought every morning to our specifications- very tasty & excellent service.
Our daughter was treated like a superstar by the staff too.

Fantastic pick service from the airport was a great start to our overdue holiday, on arrival we were 'upgraded' to a 2 bed villa as there were no 1 beds avail. The staff were wonderful and we did enjoy our stay, having our own private pool and great breakfasts delivered daily was an absolute bonus. However; Kamuela 'is tired' and our villa was in need of some overdue maintenance (both ornamental fountains were broken, metal vanity sink plug didn’t fit, poor water drainage in both shower and bath. The villa we stayed in needed a good spring clean and unfortunately, the daily 'refresh' of the villa became less attentive each day we were there (8 days). We are not fussy people... however; a little attention to detail would have made a big difference.

Dear DeeBee62,

Thank you for taking the time to write us a review of your stay at our property.

We are pleased to see you enjoyed the airport pick-up, the two bedroom villa upgrade, and the great breakfasts served in the Villa, we do our best to please.

As far as the ornamental fountains we have actually turned them off to help with mosquito control, possibly in the future we could find another solution to this. We will also have someone check the drainage in your room, sometimes there is a build-up of sand which needs to be flushed. We will talk with the room cleaners as well about your comments to see it is improved.

Again we appreciate you taking the time to help us stay at the top of our game, looking forward to having you stay with us again when your travels bring you to Bali.

We were 2 couples from United states and we stayed in villa 4. The villa is very nice, the pool is bigger than expected and the bedrooms and living room areas are bright and spacious. The service at the villas is great too. This was our second time to Bali and we finally found a good combination of villas and also a great massage place nearby. The massage place is called Ebien Spa and the price is a fraction of what you pay for a massage anywhere and the best masseuse there is named Surya, she has glasses. To get there walk out of the villas, walk toward bali deli, make a right when you see bali deli and the place will be on your right in a few minutes. Make sure to ask for Surya. At the villas, make sure to try the free afternoon tea that they provide and for breakfast try the belgian waffles with chocolate sauce.

Room Tip: villa 4 was a good 2 bedroom villa. Also the spa nearby called Ebien Spa is very good and inexpensiv...

Unfortunately this is going to be a poor review for Kamuela.

We stayed in a two bedroom villa and these are all the issues:
1) Villa has seen better days and certainly not well upkept. Cracks on tiles, 'water fountain' was not in use and has stagnant water), plants were browning out and dying.
2) Cheap furniture (use of tiles and cement in bathroom instead of timber, plywood/faux wood/plastic cupboards/cabinets) and poor Finishings, some are faulty (door of cupboard in bathroom unhinged and dropping off). Even bathroom/toilet is badly designed, finished.
3) Renovation right next to our villa. Knocking and Driling started from 8am. :(
4) Water heater was faulty, they tried to fix it but didn't work. We bathed in cold water. That was a horrible night
5) Really bad mosquito issue. Staff tried to bring mosquito coil and sprays but there were just too much of them.
6) Noisy. You can hear the traffic from your room

All that being said, the frontline service was pretty good (prompt pick up at airport, friendly staff who were quite apologetic about everything), good breakfast selection . We noticed that there are good reviews for the 1 bedroom villa, perhaps it's renovated and better than the two bedroom villa.

We moved out as soon as we could.

I think there is a lot of potential and Kamuela could possibly be a great accomodation choice but Aston needs to look into the issues, do some renovation, refurnishing if they could and put in more effort in upkeep of the place.
