“Highly Recommend when in Seminyak”
Reviewed March 30, 2014

Recommended to try by a local expat who runs an antique shop down the road. Not sure what to expect, given that our hotel was further south, and the travel time was not worth it for us to go and freshen up and return. We were not dresses in our best....polo shirt/shorts, kids were wearing their flip flops and t-shirts. On top of that, we did not have reservation. We went on Thursday at around 7:00 pm, and was told by the attendant that they would need our table by 8:30. OK, we are quick eaters, and hopefully, the service would be fast so we can eat and get out and head back to our hotel after a long day.

A wonderful surprise for us....What a wonderful space and view for dinner. Our waiters were attentive and nice. We ordered a few starters and a bottle of wonderful wine. The squash blossom was awesome and the tuna carpaccio was divine. Then we each tried a different dish- super rich gnocchi, lamb was perfectly prepared, pork chop was superb, shrimp in pesto & pasta was different but really really good. We also ordered desserts- cannoli, macadamia cake, lemoncello soufle was super good. My complement to the chefs!

Highly recommend. Reservation is must. Would go back, but I would dress up a little as I felt under dressed with my shorts and t-shirts. Definitely a romantic place. (see pics)

“Just bad”
Reviewed March 29, 2014

bad and cold service, food ordered was vitello tonnato which was good but was roastbeef with mayo and beans. far away from normal standart.
then we ordered the black angus beef tenderloin which basically was a normal rumpsteak. the meat quality was not acceptable for putting black angus label on the menu. the sides were terrible
mushroms and spinach which was stringy.
i expected a very good restaurant but was disappointed. obvioulsy many people dont know what god food is.

“La Lucciola...A MUST!”
Reviewed March 27, 2014

Always visit this restaurant at least twice when in Bali.
Well presented and friendly staff, very clean and everything on the menu is YUM!
Cannot fault this in any way. Sensational food & view.
Be seated by 5:30 and sit upstairs to watch the sunset with a wine. Then you can enjoy all the tastes they offer.
Best restaurant in Bali!...Number 1 for us.

“Magnificent ocean view”

A modern Bali experience keeping the old charm with new ways of putting Indonesian food with Western highlights.
Cool wafting breezes makes it a very romantic setting.

“Best meal of the trip!”
Reviewed March 26, 2014

My partner and I ate at La Lucciola last week. I made the reservation via email and received prompt response, querying if we wanted downstairs which was a smoking area or upstairs which was non smoking. Even though we don't smoke we had been informed by a friend that downstairs was the best place to watch the sunset so opted for a table there.
We ordered entree and mains and were both very impressed with our meals. The service was faultless and the food was lovely. I had the caprese salad for entree and the steak for main. My partner had zucchini flowers for entree which he said were his favourite from the trip. The entree was lovely, light and fresh and the steak was very tender. I did ask for mine medium and it was perhaps a touch over more to medium/well done, however I wont let this impact the score as the steak was still very tender and wasn't tough at all.
The best part of dining here is the view, it is right on the beach and a great spot to watch the sunset from with a lovely meal and a few cocktails.
Prices were a little expensive for Bali, however I think the location, food and service all make it worthwhile.
