Description: Australian Monique Robson, spent 13 years immersed in the exotic and sophisticated environment of Dubai before moving to Bali where her obsession of iconic design elements of Morocco and healthy Middle Eastern inspired food was poured into the opening Cous Cous cafe. Mosaic tiled walls and floors, wooden latticework, open-air courtyards, rich fabrics and distinctive ceilings can be seen throughout the café which offers a Moroccan inspired menu of vegetarian dishes, super healthy libations, sweet treats and freshly roasted organic coffee. Located in front of the chic and stylish Pulau Boutique Villas, Cous Cous offers a central open air terrace with chunky communal tables, cushioned benches and a garden nook overlooking the lush green rice fields of Umalas The air-conditioned interior space is distinguished by a custom painted enamel mandala on the polished floors, mirrored ceilings and a hand painted mosaic tile wall. Banquette seating and a corner lounge echo elements of the rich and intricate Arabic designs Monique explored and absorbed during her gastronomic and cultural pursuits in the fascinating Gulf emirate.

“Delicious Healthy Food”

Lovely ambience and setting overlooking the rice fields with nice breeze. I shared a couple of wraps and dips which were delicious, also the juice was fresh and healthy. Also bought a variety of salads, dips, eggplant fritters and cake for bbq I was having that night which was perfect for entrees, side salads and desert - everyone thoroughly enjoyed and commented on how delicious it was - my favourite is the Hummous and also eggplant fritters, although I need to get back and try more of the menu - breakfast wrap and coffee on my next visit there i reckon !!

Just when you think the food options can't get any better there is a new delicious cafe in Umulas.
It is Vegetarian but there is no shortage of delicious options. My favourite being the Haloumi fritters...Yummmmm!!!!!! The rice paddy view is a unmatched! I 100% recommend this location.

“Stunning Breakfast”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 7, 2014 via mobile

We took our 2 young daughters here for breaky after it was recommended to us. Firstly, the coffee was excellent, although many places now have good coffee in Bali, this was certainly up to our own 'coffee snob' status. All the menu was vegetarian, which we didn't know before we came, however it was a great selection, without the usual suspects like bacon, The Avocado smash was a particular favourite. The lunch menu looked amazing , but on this day we were unable to return due to a bike tour, the manager was able to pack us a take away selection of Hummus, and other dips and salad for our trip, which were all fantastic. The decor is very nice, bit like a magazine spread, and with the rice fields across the road, it feels like you are away from the busy streets down the road.
The wife did manage to drop back into Cous Cous later in the week on the way back from shopping and enjoyed lunch.
We will definitely comeback when next in Bali , hopefully dinner will be on the menu
