“50 years of traveling and we have found the best - Sentosa P.V. & Spa”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 23, 2011

Sentosa Private Villas made turning 50 a wonderful thing! The 5 bedroom villa with friends & family was perfect, Our own chef and staff for a Balinese BBQ at our villa with the pool and table candlelit, another night we had a great meal at the beautiful EVO, on our last day we enjoyed a cooking class poolside. The villas are amazing, giving a group of people space to themselves at the same time providing our own little village of friends and family. The staff are fantastic and the Spa world class. The gym has everything you need.
Shopping is excellent and it is positioned close to great restaurants and bars. Sentosa epitomizes the Balinese gentle politeness and spirit of Bali that has convinced all of us to make this an annual event.

Let me start by saying LUXURY... My family and I stayed at Sentosa in July 2011, we stayed in a four bedroom presidential pool villa. The villa was clean and tidy, the beds were comfy and big. A team of around 5-7 would come in every morning and make the beds and clean the villa and they would come again at night and fold the beds back, (fold the quilt back) and put the mosquito nets down. We were welcomed with welcome drinks, we arrived at Sentosa at 11.45am and check in isn't until 3pm, we were prepared to sit and wait but they said our villa was ready and we could check in. We were shown around the villa by a staff member and all we could say was WOW. When they came to fold down our beds on the first night we got a small box of fancy chocolates in each bedroom. The complex is large but if you are in are villa further from the lobby just call for a buggy. My only down about Sentosa is that you only get 1 key per villa and they don't even use electric key cards for the villas. Overall Sentosa Villas is a luxury 5-star resort and if i could i would rate it 6 out of 5 so for me Sentosa is 110%

Room Tip: get presidential villa

We stayed in a three bedroom villa with a private pool for 5 nights in July 11. You could not fault the villa, the service and the food. Absolutely fantastic. The villa was stylish, huge and they had thought of everything. If you stay, get the breakfast delivered to your room every now and then and request a room close to the reception as waiting for a buggy seems an added hassle. Walk to Bodyworks for treatments or Sea Circus for great coffee and to read the papers. We loved Sarong and Sardine restaurants too and sunset drinks at Ku De Ta.
When we booked they had a kids club (well a room the kids could go and play in) but when we got there they had closed that down which was disappointing for us.
I would say if you are travelling with children (ours are 7 and 5) you should consider if choosing a villa is the right idea for a family holiday. (also not being on the beach too) Our kids got a bit bored and we felt the need to always be taking them somewhere to do something. We has an amazing nanny who would come with different things to do each day - balls and bats or one night she and my daughter fully decorated the villa with streamers and balloons. She would take our washing in the morning to drop to the laundry close by and leave to bring it back at the end of the day for less than $5 US dollars for a lot! She said it was a lot better when she had the room to take the kids too and recommended Bali Padma as a great place to stay with kids. We have already booked our second week at Club Med for the same price per night but includes all meals (fantastic food) and alcohol and incredible things to do each day (trapeze, archery, golf, tennis, kayaking live shows each night etc) its a completely different and much better holiday for our family. This is not to say Villa Sentosa was't great its just Club Med is perfect for a great family holiday for everyone, including the parents!

Room Tip: Ask for a room close to reception

We stayed at the Sentosa private villas in June 2011 in a 5 bedroom villa for 7 nights, there were 7 ladies aged from 30 - 70 yo. It was stunning, we all absolutely loved it. The rooms in the villa are extremely large and well presented. It was unbelievably clean and we had no problems at all with anything. Service was amazing, if we rang reception or housekeeping for anything however minor it arrived within minutes. The staff are friendly and falling over themselves to be helpful. We had breakfast at the restaurant every day and it was amazing, full a la carte menu. The villas are in a great position, walking distance to Seminyak eat street and boutiques but we caught the shuttle bus most days into the Legian/Seminyak shopping strip. There is a shuttle bus back but we caught taxis at a cost of approx A$2.

We had a private BBQ dinner one night and it was amazing, table set up, chefs turned up on time and food was great.

I actually have no negatives to say about Sentosa, I will definitely be going back there again and again!!!

Great for families, couples and groups of friends. Very safe and private, once inside the villa it is peaceful and serene and very quiet. Security guards on the gate check all cars that come into the villas.

We went to this villa last week for our best friend's wedding.
The villa itself is very nice and clean. However, something terrible happened to me.

We were sitting at the lobby poolside area for the wedding banquet, watching the fireworks ( we were sitting on the groud floor and they fired it on the second floor) it was really close to the guests.
lots of fireworks ashes fell down to us and my fd got some in his eye, so my husband asked me not to look up cos' it was quite dangerous. A while later, something fell down on my head suddenly and was so painful. My husband dragged me to the covered area and look at my head, it was bleeding so bad. Finally we found out there was a standing spotlight had fallen down onto my head, i was very lucky indeed cos i only had 3 stitches at last. If i were still looking up, i could be blind by now.

After we came back from the trip, my husband wanted to talk to the villa regarding damage, cos it ruined our trip and our friend's wedding. The reply from the villa was "they now will ask the police to investigate the accident!!!!!" To investigate the accident after we were gone? after all the evidence had been removed? Unbelivable! They also blamed that some of the staff had witnessed that the spotlight fell down becoz some of the guests leaned onto it - who cares who leaned on the light, we were just wondering how could they just place a movable spotlight there without fixing them on the ground? Soridiculous!!

Honestly, the safety of the villa is POOR, the management refused to take their responsibilities which is unacceptable. Blaming others for this accident? What kind of company is it?

Think thoroughly before you book it, if you dont want to ruin your holiday - better look for a responsible one.
