“As wonderful as ever!”
Reviewed June 8, 2014

Our second time to Villa Coco and just as good as the first. Manager Clare is a wonderful Ambassador
for the hotel and very helpful....you feel like family and she gives good, down to earth advice that is always accurate and helpful. The staff are absolutely wonderful, well trained and friendly, professional and always with a smile on their face. The price to stay at this establishment is extremely fair and represents excellent value for money as compared with similar standard hotels elsewhere. We were in a free standing villa and they are very romantic, staff come in late afternoon to"turn down" the beds and spray for mozzies and nothing is too much for them. Breakfasts are great, especially Indonesian which I had every day! (Stayed 8 days). Ketut is wonderful in the bar and has been there forever, a good example of how-if staff are treated right, they stay and are a credit to Clare's professionalism. Contrast this with our experience at La Taverna at Sanur and they are worlds apart. Will definitely stay there again and highly recommend to anyone, young and old.

Room Tip: The free standing villas are very private with lovely walled gardens

It's true, this wonderful oasis just off Double 6 is as good as everyone says. My email communication for booking was efficiently and promptly handled by Martha. On arrival Claire went out of her way to greet us and ensure everything was as we wanted. In the villa Claire has written an excellant briefing which covers all possible subjects yet it is not long winded or boring...just very practical and useful!! We were delighted with everything and amazed at the generosity- more tea/coffee/mozzie coils, all were happily supplied and there is a free water dispenser in each villa (this is such a blessing!!) and the mini bar prices are unbelieveably good.
Location wise...there is everything you could need only a few minutes walk away. We will definitely be back .....think this is the case for anyone who stays here!! Thank you to everyone at Villa Coco!

This was our sixth trip to bali, and was for my parents 15th wedding anniversary. We had all but one room in the whole of Villa Coco booked with our friends and family. For a business/event trip, Villa Coco is an amazing small hotel to fill with your mates. It is a very beautiful hotel and staff are very friendly and nice. At some stages the receptionist had trouble communicating, but nothing large enough so cause serious trouble. The hotel's access is down a very dodgy looking alleyway, but once past this the sight is terrific. The location is nice, as it comes out onto double six road. The beach is a few minutes walk away, and there are beautiful restaurants for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The stretch of beach around the area had yellow sewerage floating in the surf, so this made the experience less enjoyable, yet this had nothing to do with the hotel.
The pool was nice, with lounge chairs and crystal blue water. Off to the side was a small bar where we got drinks and meals. The food was excellent, and service there was great. The staff were trustworthy, and at some stages their were some complications that were easily resolved. Because the wedding was such a large event, we hired Villa E, which was the largest villa in the complex. It was incredible, with our own pool and an open, doubled story villa with four rooms. We usually ordered room service late at night, and the staff got it to us without a problem. On the outer wall of our villa, their was construction in process but I'm sure this would be finished by now. This still didn't stop us from sleeping like babies, as the rooms were perfectly air-conditioned and the beds were superb.
Villa Coco is a perfect resort for people who are thinking of staying in a villa for the first time. Everything about the place is amazing, just don't be fooled by the alley that you need to travel through to get there.

I am sorry you had a small problem with communication but I guess that is why I am here and I never heard about it...so sorry but you did say all was good. Many hotels and Villas are down DODGY laneways but unfortunately we do not own that land and we have to be careful. I think the lighting is good and they are locals that live in the houses so it is really quite safe with our security late at night and also the Haven hotel security. There is also Russell the neighbours dog that lets of a bark now and again.

The yellow stuff in the sea at that time of the year is actually a coral sporn and in Australia at certain times of the year in Queensland the same thing is active. The sea is absolutely clean now so next time come a little later in the year if you can.

Thank you for all the nice comments about us and we would love you back here sometime in the future.

Villa Coco Team.

Villa Coco was part of our first Bali experience and nothing was too hard for the staff. Villas were clean and service for breakfast amazing. Latest movies for borrow..close to all bars and restaurants with some good tips by Claire the manager of where to go.Under rated in our opinion. We left Villa Coco to stay at the Maya resort in Ubud which is nothing in comparison. Villa Coco a bargain for a real Bali experience.
