“Frogs and Toad in Bedroom”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 18, 2012

I was so looking forward to a restful 5 night stay in a villa in Bali with my friends. Don't get me wrong the villa staff were very friendly and accommodating and the Villa we stayed in A7 looked like it had been recently refurbished besides the door leading from the garden pool area into my bedroom which had at least a 7cm gap which let mosquitoes and frogs, toads into the bedroom from the outside garden. The door appeared to be bowed from the sun and did not meet so we were also unable to lock our room. Security however, was not a problem as the room had a safe.

We also had an outside shower which also came well equipped with frogs who were more than happy to greet you first thing in the morning or late at night. The frogs, two and three at a time were more than happy to hop around the shower floor whilst you were in the shower. They were even trying to squeeze under the bathroom door to get into the bedroom. I have heard about getting back in touch with nature but this was ridiculous.

Our friends stayed in villa C4 and they also had a friendly frog living inside their inside shower!

I explained the situation to the lady that cleaned our room every day and I agreed to settle with a pillow up by the outside door to block the bottom of the door off and also placed a towel rolled up from the bedroom to the bathroom so the creatures could not get into our bedroom.

Other than that it was in a good quite location.

Croak!

Room Tip: Don't stay in room A7 until they get the door fixed and watch out for the frogs and toads in the...

Thank you for the nice comments re our wonderful staff....but you are truly joking whinging about frogs and toads in Bali. How sad of you and it was wet season and the rain bucketed down for days and those little green frogs and toads just love it.

And as for the gap in the door...if you had of complained to me or front office, it would have been fixed in a flash. It has been done now because you informed me via Trip Advisor when you got home. I cannot understand why people go home then complain....so easy to fix things straight away when someone is not happy or something needs to be changed. Our weather is harsh on wood here and it does warp, especially when it rains and then gets humid.

I am so glad our resident lizard did not visit you....most people love him and please anytime you stay in a hotel, if something is not right just dial 0 and have it fixed. Villa Coco thrive on fixing things as quickly as possible not like some places that do it when they are ready.

Maybe you should go to a cold climate next time where there are no frogs or toads but be careful there maybe big cuddly bears!!!!

This was a great find! Comfortable, clean, friendly staff offering assistance whenever they could, even went and got our phone cards, had great food too, good all round package, villa with private pool was great for cooling down after a hectic day out and about....close to shopping, restaurants and beach
Will go back no problems!!

Room Tip: reckon any room would be good, but the ones will private pool just that bit special!

After booking a very basic hotel on our first week we wanted somewhere still cheap but nicer. A local restauranteur recommended the villas and we stopped by to take a look. At first I was put off by the tunes hotel that overlooked the pool and almost didn't stay there for this reason. However I'm glad I changed my mind! The staff are all so friendly and helpful. The room was just beautiful. We had the one without a pool and loved every bit of it. I though the turn down service of a night was just gorgeous!!!! Breakfast delivered to your villa every morning! Heaven. The only thing I would say the pool temperature was a bit warm. I can't wait to go back and stay in the larger villa with a group. Fantastic!!!

We have only been here at Villa Coco for 2 days so far and are staying for 15nights.
We love it here. The staff are so friendly and have been more than happy to help with anything we ask for, and do everything with smiles on their faces. Our room, although it is one of the older, closed style rooms is just beautiful. We are staying in one of the 2 bedroom pool villas and other family members are staying in a 2 bedroom garden bungalow right next door. They are really enjoying themselves here as well.
It feels as though we are in a beautiful secluded place but just outside the main entrance are the busy streets of Seminyak. The rooms are beautiful and the outdoor shower is amazing. The beds are very comfy and the staff have already been through our room to clean up and tidy (they come once a day and are very thorough).
The prices for the mini bar are very reasonable and the same goes for the prices for the breakfast, lunch and dinner menu.
We are already talking about another trip here in a year or so! We very highly recommend Villa Coco. The manager and staff do such a wonderful job in running the place.

Room Tip: We stayed in the 2 bedroom Villa (closed style) and loved having our own pool to use once our son wa...

Been there a few times Over the years!
It's been renovated a few times to keep everything looking glam and modern!
I love the fact that the living area and bathroom is outside (Bali having warm humid nights, it's so much more relaxing being out in the fresh air)
I also love that you almost feel as though you're in an isolated rainforest or something, it's so much nicer than half of the big commercial hotels that Indonesia has to offer!
You have your own private villa, and private space rather than just a room and balcony.
Still in a nice location as it's only 5-10 minutes away from the cbd

The villa was lovely and the staff were absolutely fantastic and so lovely... nothing was ever a problem. The location of this villa is fantastic; with a 10 minute walk to the beach and less than a minute walk to street shops. Also about a 3 minute walk takes you to a circle K shopping arcade for any supplies as well as a western union for money exchange which is safe and has good exchange rates. Highly recommend if for families or friends travelling together like I did...

And special hello to ARYA who is cheeky boy at reception who was lovely and nothing was ever a problem. Even gave us a late check out as we had a late flight.. Again thank to all the staff and hope to see you again.

Room Tip: some villa's have pool, some don't. so depending on your requirement check this option out...
