We have been at the kunja for a week, six of us in a 3 bedroom pool villa for a birthday celebration. The experience from start to finish was fantastic. We were picked up at the airport and given chilled water, driven to the hotel (about 45 mins) and taken straight to our villa to check in. We were delighted to see that the photos on the net are completely realistic. The villas are huge and tastefully decorated. The bedrooms are air conditioned with king sized beds and the living area is high ceilinged with fans. The ensuite bathrooms are very big with separate shower and bath but open to the outdoors which might not suit everyone. The pool is huge and deep at one end. We asked for two more sunbeds which we got immediately. Theres a stereo to plug your ipod into in the living area currently the iphone 4 connector so bring an adaptor cable if you have a 5. There's free wifi for each person. There's a water cooler/heater in the kitchen and the ice is made with filtered water.
A major treat for all of us was the in room breakfast service. There is a choice of eggs any style served with bacon tomato and sausage, Indonesian breakfast, pancakes, museli, yoghurt. We also got pastries, extra toast, orange juice and fruit. The nasi goreng was excellent. We enjoyed the breakfast though the orange juice was a fairly sweet bottled variety and the sausages were not good.Nonetheless, having someone else cook it and clear up would take some beating. We had an in villa BBQ dinner on our last night which was well worth the roughly $45 a head. Loads of BBQ seafood, salads, decorations and entertainment by traditional musicians. We loved this.
There is free transport from the hotel to the local area including legian and Kuta. We availed of this many times and never really had to wait. You have to get a taxi back but it costs about a dollar so very affordable. We booked a car through the hotel a few times and this was very reasonably priced, about $70 for a half day. We used the spa and it is great and reasonable as well, about $50 for an hour and a half hot stone and about $30 for a spa pedicure. Both the car service and the spa compare very favorably with the services at the W hotel and are half the price.
All in all our week was very relaxing and very good value with 6 sharing. We peeked in at the one bedrooms which were similar but on a smaller scale.
Our villa was number 10 at the back of the resort, there was occasionally some construction noise but this is a rapidly growing town so it's to be expected. The high walls around the villas provide some sound proofing and make you feel secure. Gorgeous touch at the end, a free sarong from the gorgeous Bema, one of our favourite staff members (he has excellent english). We are all planning a return trip with husbands in tow....maybe!

My husband & I recently stayed for 4 nights in a one bedroom villa(no 7) & can only say what a magic place kunja is on all levels. The quality of the room surpassed any other place we've stayed & the service was unbelievable right down to the wonderful staff driving us everywhere whenever we wanted, nothing was to much trouble so thank you kunja staff for allowing us to have such a relaxing, rejuvenating, luxury fuel led holiday. We will definitely be coming back for more!!!

My husband and I chose Bali for our honeymoon. After having made the decision, I searched online for the perfect place to stay at in Bali. While browsing through different websites, I came across "The Kunja". All reviews were very positive and most of them described it as how I pictured our honeymoon to be like. So we chose to book the "romantic package" at one of their villas. Upon arriving, we were so satisfied because it was more than we expected. The villa was spotless. The ambience was indeed relaxing and romantic. All of their staff were very courteous and friendly. They all went out of their way to help us with everything we need. We specifically enjoyed our in-villa spa and the romantic dinner with candles by the pool and the floating floral arrangements. Every morning, we had sumptuous breakfast always prepared on time. Housekeeping was always done at the most convenient hour without disrupting our private time. Also, I just have to mention how grateful we are to Mr. Bima Sulastika, one of their employees. Mr. Bima had been very accommodating everytime we need information about how to to go about the city. Thanks for all the Balinese culture lessons.

I highly recommend The Kunja to everyone who's seeking a perfect place to relax and unwind. Being just a stone's throw away from the restaurants and shops in Seminyak is an added bonus. It's very accessible but still secluded and quiet, which is a good thing especially when you want a restful sleep at night. My husband and I are looking forward to our next visit at The Kunja in the near future.

Our fourth trip to Bali we decided to pay a little more and go for a 1 bedroom villa. Our 10 days with our 4 year old daughter was amazing all because of the Kunja experience. We are seasoned travellers so we are quick to share any negativity but the Kunja family and villas are amazing.
It was quiet, peaceful and very private, no issues about having to drop your towell by the pool to save a couple of lounges by the pool. They put in a small slide for our little girl who would have slid down it a thousand times..
Security is not an issue, very high walls and security on front gate.
Free suttles to kuta, seminyak, legian etc... If the cars were not available they would book a taxi and pay for it.
Chef comes in your villa to cook you breaky every morning.. a great touch.
You can order room service food from 4 different local restaurants.
Beautiful staff who were extremely helpful.
Overall, the best hotel experience ever, we will be back.

My husband and I have just returned from 7 nights in a one bedroom Pool Villa. It was the most amazing place we have stayed in Bali and we have been going there for 20 years. The staff couldnt do enough for us, whether it was booking restaurants or driving us to Kuta or Legian for shopping they were always available. For the local restaurants they would drive us there in the golf buggy. The pool was the best I have had in Bali, so big and a perfect temperature. Breakfast was cooked for us daily and was very good, the staff always left after serving breakfast, they would ask when we wanted our room cleaned and also if we wanted afternoon tea (pancakes, jaffles or cookies)

Honestly don't hesitate to book this Villa, it is a bit expensive but worth every penny. Nearby restaurants were Biku (great afternoon high tea) and Sarong was so beautiful and the food was fabulous. My only negative would be the open bathroom which was lovely but extremely hot, it was a shock to walk in there after the cool of the bedroom. (It was a very hot week in Bali though).

Thank you so much Kunja, we loved your Villas.

5 of my friends and I stayed at the 3 bedroom Kunja Villas. We were a little apprehensive when we first decided to stay at a villa because we were worried about security especially after we read about the girl from Western Australia who stayed at a villa with her family and who was raped. There was nothing to worry about at the Kunja. There is 24 hrs security and there is a 8 ft wall around the villa. There are plants and flowers on either side of the wall and the whole place looks like a garden.
The rooms were large and clean and airconditioned with huge king size beds. The walk in wardrobe especially in the main bedroom was huge with lots of cupboard space and a full length mirror. The bathroom was unbelievably large with a shower and a bath and tastefully decorated with pebbles in between the tiles on the floor.

It was so exciting jumping into the pool into the morning whilst the chefs prepared breakfast. Heaven!
The location is so good-it was barely 5 mins to Semeniyak Square and restaurants and shops were so close. On the first night--flight arrived at 6.45pm, we had dinner at Merah Putih--fantastic restaurant 5 mins from the Villa. On another day when we were too tired to go out we ordered take away food from Queens Indian restaurant--they have home delivery--absolutely superb food. On that day we also asked Kunja to arrange foot massage for the 6 of us at the Villa at 9pm. What luxury!. I would stay at the Kunja anytime when I go next to Bali. True 5 star experience!

Stayed at villa 3 from the 28/04/13 to the 6/05/13

We stayed in a one bedroom villa which has a large lounge area and a fully functional kitchen. The bedroom has a large comfortable bed dressed with nice quality clean linen. The room has nice modern fittings and is air conditioned. The room also has a nice size walk- in wardrobe. This villa has a beautiful large bathroom with a big clean shower and nice size bath that overlooks a nice section of the villa garden. The pool is large and has a shallow and deep section and is very clean. The pool is surrounded by beautiful gardens and has a nice handy outdoor shower. The furniture is modern and comfortable and the villa also has decent internet access.

The jewel of this villa complex is the staff. From the friendly and helpful staff at reception: the lovely breakfast cooks that cook you breakfast at your room every morning: the helpful drivers who will take you to any surrounding area in Bali you desire. I thank you all. You are such genuine and friendly people and made our stay in Bali such a delight.

I highly recommend this beautiful villa.

The Kunja has no restaurant but there is the Macca Villas close by which have a cafe and restaurant which serve the best coffee in Bali and the food in the Masse’ restaurant is fantastic. There are many places close by to eat and the Kunja staff will take you to any surrounding restaurant in the area.
