My husband and I have been traveling to Bali on business for 11 years and have stayed in 21 different hotels and/or villa properties. This broad perspective may not make us experts on vacation properties in Bali but it certainly has helped us refine our judgement of the perfect Bali vacation experience. Villa Hathour Noun is, by far, the most lovely residence we have ever had the pleasure of enjoying in the tropical paradise of Bali, Indonesia.
Let me begin to enumerate our highlites with our delight in finding transport to our Villa on time and waiting as we exited the airport. Even though we arrived after 10pm, the lovely Iluh greeted us with classic Bali hospitality; that perfect smile and warmth that is so signature Balinese.
The Villa was breathtaking as we toured it in the sultry night air. The pool glowed and beckoned with gorgeous landscape lighting in the palm treed garden. The scent of Frangipani hung in the air along with a perfect night sky. The limestone floors felt warm and soft on our tired travel worn toes and offered a bright backdrop to a perfect living room, outfitted with an enormous l-shaped sofa and beach worn coffee table, adorned with charming Balinese art.
The kitchen is spacious and well appointed with the requisite water cooler for much needed heavy hydration to protect against the sultry temps. And then there's the bedroom and bath that photos only begin to define. The cool smooth scooped rock sinks and delicious shower offered welcome relief from our long journey (30 hours)) and the enormous tub didn't disappoint either.
Now, back to that pool! The "window" by the sunken couch area is a blast! Be sure to take photos of your vacation partner in that "aquarium window" because your friends and family will get a big kick out of them, not to mention your fun photo memory for yourselves!
Of note, the management team of Iluh, Elizabeth and Pierre are just terrific. We had some minor issues with things at the Villa during our stay and they were taken care of in lightning fast fashion. Their cooperation in making our stay just perfect was a welcome relief from experiences we have had at other villas in Bali. We simply cannot rave about this Villa enough!
One more note: there is a very pitted stretch of road leading into the villa complex. Pierre tells us that this will be rectified long before our return next year. Do not be deterred by this minor issue as it will not effect your stay in any way!
Please enjoy this Villa as much as we did, if not more! As I said, we were in Bali on business and didn't get to spend nearly as much time as we would have liked had we been on vacation. This is, however, the first time we have stayed anywhere in Bali when we took the time to schedule a day off to make sure that we could absorb the quietude, privacy and beauty of Villa Hathour Noun!
