The Samaya Bali Seminyak

We recently stayed at the Samaya in Bali. The travel agency promised a top 5 star hotel, impeccable friendly service, sublime location and luxury accommodation for once the travel agency delivered! Having travelled all around the world and staying at many 5 star hotels we are delighted to say that the Samaya Bali would be at the top of our list. Our villa on the beach was spacious and beautifully appointed with a private out door tropical pool area. The service was impeccable nothing was too much trouble. One of the many highlights was the breakfast in a spectacular setting overlooking the beach. The experience created through the hotels staff provided a unique friendly, genuine holistic experience. We can not say enough about our stay at The Samaya and will definitely be returning.

Room Tip: Beach side is best

Better late than never!!

Once again we chose to stay at the Samaya but this time staying on the beach side.

We stayed in a Royal Pavillion Villa by the main pool and yet again this resort just blew us away.

The Samaya and it's attention to the little things is what makes this number one,far too many to go into, and all have been said before, but this is what makes the difference when there are so many other places to choose in Bali.

One instance is that the butler must have noticed we had Gin in our room, next day we returned to a full ice bucket and a plate with sliced lime!!! Service to the max!!!

I cannot praise this establishment and it's staff highly enough and having travelled the world can honestly say this is the best hotel we have ever experienced,it's got the lot!!

The samaya was perfect! All the reviews are accurate. We had a private courtyard villa with full size pool and it was heaven. The service was impeccable. The staff knew where you were at all times to ensure not only your safety, but to also clean your room etc at times that was convenient to you. The smiles, friendly conversation were absolutely genuine and a pleasure to be around. The manager Ray introduced himself and offered lots of advice on how to make to make the most of the complimentary services such as the afternoon tea. The food was very good and very reasonably priced. We are now in the Chedi club as I write this and TBH the price hike in food and lower quality is obvious. The location of the samaya is perfect for a blend of relaxation and dun. We absolutely will be back. Loved it!

Our trip was wonderful in Bali. This is definitely as advertised. The location is beautiful with the pool on one side and the Indian Ocean on the other. The Balinese service is definitely part of the culture in Bali. The people are helpful and will do everything to make your stay special.

Also, the town in fun to visit for a day or two, and the dining is exquisite. Dinners are not inexpensive, but they are world class. Still, the best red curry dishes I have ever experienced.

Room Tip: All rooms are close to the restaurant, pool, and facilities. I would definitely stay at the Samaya v...

We just returned from a 9 day trip to Bali. 3 days each at the Samaya (Seminyak), Amankila (in East Bali) and Chedi Club (in Ubud)). All the properties were excellent and each very different from the others.

In terms of our overall experience we probably enjoyed our time at the Samaya the most. Though Seminyak isn't the most authentic place in Bali, it is the most fun with brilliant restaurants, bars and clubs, great boutiques, and the most beautiful beachfront.

Samaya was the perfect resort from which to enjoy Seminyak. The property, though small, is set in beautifully landscaped gardens along the beachfront. Our pool villa was enormous and set in its own courtyard. The villa had a sitting room, large bedroom and the largest bathroom I have ever seen with separate indoor and outdoor showers as well as a jacuzzi tub. There were 3 TVs in the villa and a comprehensive entertainment system with a number of movies available on demand. The private pool in the villa was also the largest we had in Bali. Best of all, the villa was set less than 100ft from the beach and when we opened our front door we had a view of the sea.

The beach in front of the Samaya is wide and clean and not very crowded, and there are a couple of beach clubs (Ku De Ta and Potato Head) within a 5 minute walk of the resort.

Service was good, but not as polished as in the other resorts we stayed at. We had a couple of spa treatments (including the signature Samaya massage) which were good but not excellent. We ate breakfast in the villa everyday which was mediocre. However, our lunches at Breeze were good as was the complimentary afternoon tea. Wifi worked well throughout our stay. There is a complimentary drop-off service within Seminyak which is very useful and we never had to wait more than 5 minutes for a car.

The resort was at full occupancy while we were there and we saw more people here than anywhere else in Bali. However, we still felt like we had enough privacy and more than enough space for ourselves. Getting loungers on the deck overlooking the beach was never a problem and there was enough staff to bring us whatever we needed.

On the whole we had a great stay, and in terms of comparing the Samaya to the other resorts we stayed at, I would say it has the best villas and the best location of any resort we stayed at in Bali.

Room Tip: Pool villa was outstanding. Ask for a villa close to the beach.

We moved to Samaya from St.Regis.Maybe if I compare these 2 hotels will be helpful to other travellers. But I can't.How can you compare the beauty of sunrise(the St. Regis side) and sunset(the Samaya side)? They are all perfcet but in different ways.
The perfect of Samaya is all about details. You can feel verey detail of this hotel is carefully designed. From the lobby to the pool. From the bathroom of the villa to the table of restaurant. And of course every detail of the service.
Cool towel and iced water for beach chairs.Fruit plate on ice.Delicious afternoon tea.The only thing better than these is they are free! It's almost like a bonus to reward us for not go out of the hotel.Yes, we stay in the hotel for whole 3 days.Because of this I can see the GM checks his property everyday.
Samaya doesn't has many restaurants as St. Regis. But the Breez is quite famous. We had 2 breakfasts 1 lunch 1 room service and 2 dinners there. We can tell you every good review of this restaurant is true.
And one thing amybe will get the point. The price here is 30% cheaper than St. Regis. So why are you still wait?Just book it.

Room Tip: If watch the sea is your intent please notice there is no ocean view room in this hotel.

Just for a change, my wife and I decided to have a five day break at the Samaya in Seminyak. What a mistake that was, I could have cried on the last day, it just went too quick, definitely a ten day stay next time. begining, with the airport pick up it just got better and better every day. we have stayed at various resorts, but nothing like this. The one bedroom villa was spacious, clean and extremely enjoyable and best of all, its VERY VERY PRIVATE. The service from ALL the staff was unrealistic, I have never seen such efficiency and friendliness, with a smile at no extra cost. The reastaurant is a fabulous experiance and the food to die for. Pitty we ran out of time to experiance everything available on the menue, not that we didnt try. Nothing was too hard from the staff to accomodate our demands and at times It felt that they had a sixth sense, as they anticipated what we wanted. The afternoon tea's by the beach and dinners at night under lights were just supurb. Would we go back, DEFINITELY, would we recommend it to others, ABSOLUTELY.

Room Tip: It really doesnt make any difference which room you choose.
