We arrived rather tired after a 15 hours flight from Europe. We heard at the frontdesk that our room ( luxury bungalow) was not ready yet due to late check out of the previous guest. We had to wait 30 minutes. OK, no problem. After 30 minutes we heard from another employee that the bungalow was not available anymore due to technical problems. We had to spend 1 nite in a "superior" room. Another word for standard room. So from the most expensive to the cheapest accommodation. When we asked how we would be compensated the girl said she did not know. To tired to make problems we went to the room. By evening time we heard that the compensation could be a lunch or a dinner. We said that this was not acceptable for us and that we would like to speak to the manager. The manager had a meeting. The next morning we met the manager. Yes, the compensation would be a lunch or a dinner. No, we said, we want the difference in price back. The manager said he had to contact bookings.com. We ourselves immediately contacted the customer service of bookings. They found it absolutely normal that we would be compensated in money. They would contact the manager. When we showed up late afternoon the front desk told us we could get back the difference in money. Why such a fuss for something so normal? Why to fight for your rights? Later I read in the reviews that more people in june had the same problem. Advice to the hotel: do not play tricks with your guests. Problems can always occur. But be fair and compensate your guests immediately in stead of letting them struggle for their rights.
We do not reccommand this hotel.

We stayed here for 7 nights and loved it. The service was great, welcoming drink on arrival and staff always with a smile on their face and happy to talk.

The pool is absolutely amazing. Two levels, surrounded by lounge chairs and even has a basketball ring in the pool which was well used by kids and adults. The pool is so nice and relaxing we spent a couple of days not even leaving the hotel! Great place to just lie back and relax.

We had an upstairs deluxe bungalow which was nice but probably a bit big for just a couple like us. A tip for anyone booking a deluxe bungalow up stairs, stay away from room 18A and ask not to be booked into this room! The room itself is fine but it's location is the worst in the hotel as it is the only room at the back of the hotel with the only access being via a side ally. Not a big problem but it takes away from the beauty of the hotel as you don't walk through the lush gardens to get in and out of your room so avoid if possible.

Hotel has a buffet breakfast which was nice and a great way to start the day and has an extensive poolside menu and cocktail list.

We loved the location of this hotel. It is in the quieter section of Seminyak which was perfect for us. You don't get hassled walking down the street and it is only a short walk to some great restaurants; Biku, Breeze, La Lucciola, The Deck, Waroeng Bonito, Patty's Burgers and close to Potato Head. Also a short taxi ride into Seminyak Square and a 40,000-50,000 ($4-$5) taxi ride into Kuta.

Overall it is a great hotel to stay at, especially if you want a relaxing holiday and don't want to be in the hussle and bussle of Bali.

Room Tip: Stay away from room 18A as it is located at the back of the hotel and only access is via a side ally...

Vila lumbung... Where to even start! The buildings were run down, the "gym" and I use this term very loosely had 4 pieces of cardio equipment that were so rusted you couldn't adjust the height of the exercise bike... The gym was also the recreation room where there was an old ping pong table and a pool table that was on such a slant blind Freddy could see it... The pool table also had ripped velvet (I get wear and tear occurs but this had been like this was ripped to shreds)... Now back to the ping pong accessories... The bats - half of the rubber was falling off them... You'd go to hit the ball and it would go in funny directions because the rubber had fallen down... The pool area was large but that's about the only thing going for it...

For the room itself, it was small but noisy! Due to the fact we were in an adjoining room each time someone walked in to the adjoining room our glass shutters would rattle and shake like someone was trying to break in... Just what you want to be woken up by all through the night...

The staff... They were, well average... There was not one day I stayed there when is walk to reception and the manager was sitting down dealing with complaints... In fact id go so much to say that every time I walked to reception this occurred... We were in and out a lot so I walked through reception quite a bit...

The food was pathetic... Expensive, room service was inedible... The Korean BBQ on the first night was beautiful! I thought we had done really well to get such beautiful food... But this joy was short lived...

The worst part about the whole place was the staff made no attempt to rectify the complaints made to them... By any one of the customers... They dismissed them making us feel like we had invaded their home and it was our fault...

I will never stay at hotel Vila lumbung again... Don't put yourself through the misery!

It is a lovely hotel with excellent customer service. It appears a bit away from the action but it doesn't take long to be at beach or around Seminyak Square. Only had breakfast there and was not fantastic, but such as small part of the day that it didn't matter. WiFi was pretty average during day early night hours. Lovely pools, overall a very nice hotel with amasing staff.

Room Tip: Ground floor rooms seem to be nicer, but they are all really comfortable and spacious.

I stayed here with my boyfriend for two nights and wished we could have stayed longer!

The hotel grounds are beautiful, nice gardens and the pool area is very nice.

The bungalow was lovely, the most comfortable bed and pillows I had whilst staying in Bali!

The staff are very very friendly and helpful.

Room Tip: The Bungalows were great. AC works good, outdoor bathroom is nice.

The first couple of days were great, exactly what we had expected. Food a little average, but everything we had expected in a 3star resort. However, We got a little surprise on our second last night. His name was 'mi gorengy'. At About 2am my partner and I were woken to a loud rustling sound in the room. We quickly turned the light on but couldn't see anything, then minutes later we heard it again. We found a hole in the side of the roof!! And soon realised that a rat was coming in and stealing our mi goreng noodles!!!
We called reception, took us a while to get them to understand (their English wasn't great) 25 mins later after another phone call, two men arrive with a makeshift trap! They placed the trap near the hole and put food in it! Then they left, leaving us very confused as now the rat was going to be attracted to the food then trapped in our room!?!
4am woke up to loud rustling again.. Rat doesn't like the look of the food in the trap, it's back for the mi goreng!! Called reception again told them we need another room as was getting ridiculous!! 30 mins later a man arrives to take us to it. So at 4.30am we had to move rooms! Got up the next morning and went and complained, of course no apology or refund was given for our sleepless night. Not the best ending really... :(

We arrived a what looked like a lovely hotel, a beautiful pool area and some really nice families that we chatted to whilst enjoying our welcome drinks. We had already filled out the paperwork and the front desk had taken copies of our passports. We were just waiting to be shown to our room. After about 10 minutes one of the hotel staff comes to ask us to sit down, he has something he wants to explain. We were told that there had been some botched repair work in one of the rooms which resulted in water damage to a few of the rooms, ours was one.
We were then told that they had upgraded us and made arrangements on our behalf for us to be moved to the kokonut suites.
We were really disappointed that we were moved somewhere else. The kokonut suites was also really disappointing. The pool was really average, the hotel was very quiet with no atmosphere and the staff were not particularly warm or friendly. We didn't enjoy our stay there at all and checked out the next day.
