Description: At BABA’s, we believe a meal is made for sharing, it brings people together and broadens the dining experience. In Asia, it is common to reach across one another at the dining table, passing dishes, pouring each other drinks and adding food to each other’s plates as our token of hospitality. So, we invite you to dine with us at BABA’s in the same spirit – place your dishes at the middle of the table and share the food family style.“Selamat Makan” (enjoy)- BABA -

“Impressive, worth a try”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 14, 2013

We had dinner at Babas and I was impressed. The set up is great, I think there's a bar inside.

I ordered laksa which is a must try! My boyfriend had the duck confit which he thought was more like fried duck and was a bit oily for hus taste. The dessert was lovely we had pandan creme brulee. Try the limolychee mocktails they're delicious

“Misled when we booked - ruined what should've been a great evening”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 30, 2013

After seeing a poster in the main street advertising Sneaky Sound System playing at Hu'u Bar, we rang Hu'u Bar to see if we could book a table for dinner prior to the gig as we had a large group of 9 people and didn't want to miss out. We were delighted to be told that not only could we book a table but also that entry to the gig would be free and we wouldn't have to queue. GREAT - so we thought anyway. On arrival our booking was nowhere to be found (even though we'd called and emailed) but fortunately we had arrived for an early dinner so the restaurant managed to accommodate us. The menu was very pricey (particularly drinks by Bali standards) but food was of a high quality and we were getting free tickets so thought we'd splash out. $6m RUP later and we were ready to head to the bar. We were then told that we didn't get free tickets, only a 20% discount. The manager offered us 3 free tickets (same as 20% anyway) AND to make matters worse drinks were outrageously expensive (water & Bintang for $50k!!!!), there was no aircon in the bar and the main act didn't start playing until 1am!!! Waste of time and money. Will not be spending another cent here.

“Worth a splurge”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 19, 2013

The food here is seriously good and we couldn't get enough of the delicious paratha bread. We sat in the open in front of a mosaic tiled rectangular pool. The only criticism was that although the table had two large candles one up high the other on the table it was very dark and we needed our torch to read the menu and also to see what we were eating. 2 cocktails were generous & delicious. The amuse bouche was welcomed and a great little taster but not sure what it was! For entree I had the corn cakes and hubby the mixed satay which came on a little charcoal filled brazier (how it used to be done 20 odd years ago!) The corn cakes were good but the satay a stand out. I had the duck confit which came with rice and accompaniments of peanuts, picked vegetables, bitter greens (didn't like those) and a soup. The duck was crispy skinned and meltingly tender but again needed the torch to by pass the bones

Hubby had the pork belly and ribs with rice , soup and veg. It was nice but very small portions of meat.

For dessert we shared the pancake filled with roasted coconut, it was OK a slightly dense texture to the pancake.

No it is not cheap and they do need to sort the lighting as you just can't see to eat, but we enjoyed our night and the staff were very good. friendly but professional.

“Best Nasi Goreng in Indo.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 16, 2013

This place is seriously delicious! we went in a rather big group and enjoyed several cocktails by the pool before we all had entrees and mains. We also received complimentary starters which were also delicious. There is eastern Fare and Western Fare at Babas and lots of fresh seafood dishes. A few people on our table went for very traditional Nasi Goreng or Babi Gouling platters which were both GREAT!!! Prices arent cheap but the food was delish, and also the presentation is amazing!
