We were so impressed upon our arrival at Villa Can Barca. The rooms were beautiful. The staff, especially Ida our fantastic housekeeper and breakfast cook, were so wonderful, polite and very respectful. Love love loved it.
This villa is in a fabulous position, directly opposite the W hotel, so many coffee shops, spas and shops in this area. The villa is very well kept with a fabulous housekeeper, the good size pool is in the shade. I would highly recommend it. But my only issues with this property is I booked on bookings.com, I booked in AUS dollars and then they wanted me to pay in US dollar ( this was over $100 increase extra for the week) so I paid most in rupiah when I arrived.
The location is perfect- couldn't be better. Walking distance from Cafe Organic, Fat Turtle, Merah Putih, Saigon Street and many other enjoyable restaurants and cafes. The villa is clean and the staff are friendly. Drinking water (hot or cold) is available at all times.
There are a few downsides though. The pool doesn't get any sun. At all. Therefore it is almost always too cold in the pool. It is refreshing, but it would be nice to be in the sun in the pool from time to time. As with every TripAdvisor and other website; don't believe everything you see in the pictures... The bedroom doors are a pain to open, and loudly scrape along the tiles every time you open them.
Ida comes and cleans the room every day and she is lovely. However if you say 'come at 9am' and try to synchronise that with your breakfast outings, don't be surprised if she comes an hour late, and stays for 2-3 hours. There are quite a few mosquitoes, but coils and mosquito spray are provided.
Nice outdoor bathrooms, air con works well in the rooms. Bluetooth speakers are a nice touch, big fridge and freezer.
Pool isn't cleaned very often (or at all for the week we've been here) and can get quite dirty.
The door to the back bedroom doesn't lock into the ground/ door frame properly, so even if you lock the door, you can just push both the doors open if you want to.
Overall a positive experience, but if the greenery/ trees weren't cut away from the pool to allow the sun to hit the pool, we wouldn't rush back- as this is quite a deal breaker.
Such an amazing villa in a prime location, walking distance to amazing shops and restaurants, the villa is equipped with everything you need for a long or short stay. Will be coming back to this villa next time I visit Bali. lovely and friendly staff highly reccommend!!
Our 10 night stay at Villa Can Barca was just perfect for our family of 4 (2 adults, 24 month old, 4 month old) and mostly because of how accommodating the staff were. From my original booking, I was provided so much assistance in ensuring we had all the facilities we needed for our babies (cots, pool fence, microwave, etc). When we arrived we were greeted by Ahmed and Ida both of who went above and beyond to make our stay wonderful. Being the wet season and only having outdoor showers, Ahmed kindly arranged a cover be installed over one of the showers and delivered a baby bath for us. When we had an issue with the water cooler on the fridge Ahmed immediately arranged a new water cooler for installation.
Most of all, I can thank Ida enough, she made our stay so pleasant and our children absolutely loved her. She is thorough in taking care of the villa and goes out of her way to make sure you are comfortable. And her mi goreng for breakfast is awesome!!!
Thank you so much for a wonderful stay, we can't wait to come back
During our stay at Villa Can Barca we received some of the best service I've ever had while staying in Bali. The staff at Villa Can Barca were amazing, especially Hari, Ahmad, Teo and Ida. They went to extreme lengths to make us feel welcome and safe. They were so kind and were willing to do anything to make us feel more comfortable during our stay.
The Villa itself was very hygienic, having cleaners come in everyday to tidy the place up and replace the towels, linen and bottled water.
The private pool was very clean, with pool boys coming in and cleaning it almost daily. The size of the pool was a lot bigger than I first thought from looking at the pictures which was great.
There was also the option of having breakfast cooked upon request which was very tasty and easy.
There is nothing bad I could say about Villa Can Barca. They had everything we needed- cups, plates, a safety deposit box in each room, kitchen appliances, separate towels for the pool and shower and even a list of food services that deliver to you 'after hours'.
I would highly recommend this Villa to anyone wanting to come to Bali. A beautiful and luxurious place to settle down and relax.

The villa we stayed in was beautiful, nothing was faulty, the rooms were really nice, everything was so clean, all the towels, sheets and water was replaced everyday, the cleaners were so polite to us and respectful of our stuff. I would definitely recommend this villa or any of the maviba villas! The service from the staff and owners of the company was unbelievable, we really appreciate everything they did for us. They really went above and beyond to make sure we were safe and helped us with problems we were having outside the villa. Next time im in Bali I will definitely be choosing to stay at maviba again it was a very nice place.
I would especially like to thank hari, ahmad, teo and eta(?) for everything they did for us ☺️
