To enter an Oberoi hotel, is to experience the hallmark of peace, tranquility, and luxury, that they are known worldwide for.
We didn't, unfortunately, stay at the hotel, but we did visit it, and I promise you, you start unwinding after just ten minutes there. There's such an amazing sense of calm, no one is rushing around, the vistas are beautiful, the staff outstanding. One almost feels time stand still. It is an Oberoi hotel - that should say it all.

We have just spent 2 superb weeks at the enchanting OBEROI- BALI .Pure magic!
EVERYTHING IS JUST ABSOLUTELY PERFECT in the smallest details!
The place itself is more than fantastic .
Super Clean and beautiful rooms, amazing garden and pool but what truly impressed us was the exceptional unsurpassed level of their service. The team is excellently trained: super polite, highly professional beyond any expectation .They put their guests above all.
We were so impressed of the way the team at Oberoi operates that we absolutely wanted to meet the GM , mr John .
As business owners we always strive for excellency and we are aware of how difficult is So we took the chance to interview the Oberoi GM on his leadership style and on his obviously exceptional management skills :how could he possibly reach such an excellent result? He was extremely nice and happy to share with us .
We loved the overall experience at the Oberoi. When we got there - exhausted and overstressed - practically burnt out - we have received the warmest welcome.During our memorable stay, we have been literally cuddled and everything they delivered was based on "every guest's wish is an order "basis. We received a lot of respect and attention and kindness.
We got the best food ever (excellent chef from Germany) , the best entertainment (every day they have traditional balinese music, and few times a week balinese dance or jazz music) the best Concierge support and advice.Unsurpassed and world class.
And please take into account that we are the most difficult clients:I am super picky, truly high demanding and on a gluten free/ sugar free /everything free diet due to my several allergies.
The Oberoi team did not make a" plisse'" !
We travel a lot for business and pleasure and we have possibly visited the best hotels and resorts in the world.Oberoi is now firmly at the top of our list.
And we live between Dubai and italy :two places that are very well known for their high level hotels.
After 15 days at THE OBEROI we are now back at work in Dubai. Our energy is at its highest peak after such a pleasant vacation .We are Grateful to Oberoi GM mr John and his amazing team with a special thank to Widia and Ratna :they are not a simple concierge , they are super assistants, cultural guides and true angels.
if you feel tired and stressed out go to the Oberoi they will heal you!
Suitable for couples , families friends solo ....

Room Tip: Rooms with sea view are stunning but also garden view are exceptional

The Oberoi Bali is a beautiful haven in bustling Seminyak. The highlights are the spread out layout along the beach (all the other luxury beachfront hotels in Seminyak are rooms rather than villas) and the service. Even at the relatively high price point, it's a value for what you get. Think its peers in Seminyak are the W and the Legian, but the Oberoi has a very different vibe with its low-key luxury and understated charm. The staff is incredibly attentive without being intrusive and the little daily touches like afternoon snacks and tea, daily fruit and newspaper in the room were a great bonus.

We visited the Oberoi with two young children (two and five) and despite the excellent reviews by other travellers had some concerns that the hotel may not be best suited to guests of our profile.

We needn't have worried. Even before we arrived, the helpful concierge service had provided a range of personalised information on children's activities and local trips suitable for families. And on arrival the incredibly friendly and attentive staff made us feel at home and un-self-conscious, despite most other guests being couples or with older (and quieter!) children.

A range of thoughtful touches on a daily basis (which I won't spoil here) made us feel welcome and helped the children settle immediately - they were soon enjoying greeting the staff with the Indonesian phrases they had taught them, and exploring the beautiful and immaculate gardens, which together with the traditional buildings and delightful stone statues and amphitheatre make the hotel feel more like visiting some ancient but living temple rather than just another resort.

While we tried initially to make some cultural forays out of the hotel and into the heart of Bali, the busy high-season traffic proved difficult with young children so we ultimately lowered our ambition and spent our remaining time at the hotel. But while perhaps lacking some of the overtly child-focussed facilities of other more commercial resorts, we spent every day very enjoyably in the lovely pool and perfect stretch of beach, naturally punctuated by more nice touches like fruit around the pool at noon, sorbets at 2pm and afternoon tea and cakes with an introduction to an aspect of Balinese culture from 4-5 - all complimentary. The child practitioners of traditional dance in particular were fantastic, and the music and dance performance in the amphitheatre on our last evening a simply magical way to conclude our stay.

Turning briefly to the menu, this was also characteristically of a very high standard. To be honest, we had stretched our budget to the maximum to visit the Oberoi, which (plus children) meant we weren't able to enjoy the fine dining as often as we would have liked. On the less positive side, the lack of a buffet option at breakfast combined with relatively pricey (but tasty) a la carte options (around £5 per person for freshly squeezed fruit juice) is a challenge for a family on a budget. The plat du jour at lunch on the other hand was very reasonably priced for an excellent three-course lunch, with good child menu options to accompany. And for those seeking to stretch their budget further, there are a lot of good and much more affordable options available among the bustling shopping/restaurant streets a short walk from the hotel. But in summary, the food and service (not to mention the wonderful surroundings and view as you enjoy them) make them more than worth the ticket price.

The room (we stayed in the regular 'Lanai garden view' though the villas looked exceptional) was lovely, and a reasonable size with children our age (though wouldn't have been suitable for two older children). While not as big as some competitors, the attention to detail was excellent, with beautiful murals on the bedstead and wall, a pretty marble bathroom with small walled exterior garden (to the children's delight, ours had birds nesting in the bamboo outside the window!), and everything was impeccably clean, with fresh flowers on the pillows and season fruit refreshed each day. One minor issue was that the rooms were not brilliantly soundproofed (though no worse than any other hotel we've visited) - which was only a problem on a couple of nights (the hotel visitors appear in the main to be characteristically thoughtful) but also made us feel a little self-conscious on the occasions the children became a bit tired and noisy. But overall, we felt very comfortable and much appreciated the efforts of the great housekeeping team to tidy up our chaos as quickly as we produced it!

But I'll end by emphasising again what really made this hotel (and therefore our holiday) so special - namely the service and warm welcome we received from all of the staff - from the gardening team, the security guards, housekeepers and pool attendants through to the service and restaurant staff and hotel management. That explains why the hotel receives so many repeat visitors, and why we - visiting Bali for the first time - have already resolved to do so again.

Thank you to everyone at the Oberoi!
