Dined here on our first night in Seminyak. Very welcoming atmosphere with friendly staff and live music playing throughout the restaurant. Speedy service with exceptional cocktails (highly recommend the strawberry and basil mojito) fantastic food. Great dining experience - will be dining there again.

Good people watching spot for lunch. the beer is icy cold and the sates are fabulous, they are served on a tradition bed of coals with lots of peanut sauce. very yummy

We have been there thrice, 2 times for lunch, which was good - I'd recommend the tuna salad with olives and oranges and the vanilla passion for drink. Hainanese chicken rice was also nice but small portion. For dinner the music was too loud, service took longer and some ingredients were out. Price is a bit high for what you get.

Sabeen was high on our list of must visits given its location and it's modern fit out. There was a husky voiced singer starting my favorite Sade song so the appeal was huge.
We sat down and ordered drinks which were more pricey than other venues but the band and the decor made us forget the price.
We ordered and sat back to enjoy the tunes.
But we could hear each other. The music was far too loud for dinner and we were seated away from the band. It was uncomfortably loud.
Interestingly, the Executive Chef kept appearing and staring at the diners for extended periods of time with, who I assume was, an owner. This was odd behaviour in peak service and a felt like a lab rat.
I was starving so we ordered a platter of spring rolls and calamari. What appeared was the most awful basket of fried junk. It wasn't even fried properly with most of the items soggy. Exec chef still staring at the crowd at this point.
The shrimp burger was so-so. A mystery white meat patty with the typical accoutrements.
Lasagne was a very odd creation that lacked flavour and texture.
My meal was the same. Overcooked swordfish to the point of being tough-as-leather with a way over salted "Thai" sauce. Dry and flavour less. A real disappointment.
All the while chef was in an out just staring at the crowd. If he had have come and said hello I would have been more than happy to share my experience with him but I got the feeling he was searching for happy faces so he could feed his illusion that the food is amazing.
Sadly, we never returned.

We stayed at The Haven, on the first day we decided to have lunch at Sabeen, as we had heard many things about it. We were very disappointed with the food, it was very overpriced for what you get and most of the things were deep fried. Didnt enjoy at all, wouldn't eat there again while in bali.
