“Mid Sized Hotel - value for money, perfect location”
Reviewed June 20, 2013

We stayed at the Amadea Resort in one of the hotel rooms (they also have villas). The staff were excellent for the most part, although one of the security guards only seemed able to hail down taxis at the front of the hotel that were asking for a fixed price fare. For the newbies - always use Bluebird taxis, distinguished by the blue bird logo on the top of the blue taxi and ask the driver if he knows where the location is and confirm that he uses the meter before getting in. Also note that if you use hotel cars for transport they will charge you much more than a bluebird taxi.

The hotel and room were both clean but it seems that in Seminyak, there were mosquitoes galore, including in our room (so don't be cheap and buy some insect repellant spray for ~AUD$2 at the local "mini mart"), it may save you a lot of hassle!

The breakfast buffet was quite good and had the standard fare (being eggs/omelletes, cereals, fried rice/noodles, bacon, pancakes, salads and pastries). Although after the 8th straight buffet breakfast, we had had enough of the smorgasboard and decided to opt for some of the "cute" cafes around the main strip such as: Revolver (great coffee on par with Melbourne), Grocer & Grind (good vibe and quite sophisticated as well as being affordable) and Cafe Zucchini (for the more health conscious).

In terms of noise, although the hotel was located on a busy strip it was very quiet because the rooms were set further back. We did get some noise from the hotel behind us - it seemed that they had a few loud parties but to be fair they tapered off around midnight / 1am.

Don't bother eating at the hotel's restaurant as there are many great places around Amadea to eat!

Room Tip: They also had villa's but we stayed in a normal room. From what we heard the villa's sounded...

The hotel is a bit hidden and slightly hard to find at the beginning, but we loved how it's located along the main street but yet the main hotel is located somewhat deeper which makes it peaceful and relaxing to stay in.

We loved the buggy rides from the concierge area to the lobby, and the friendliness of the staff. The buffet breakfast selection is also quite good.

On the down side, the pool access deluxe rooms aren't the kind that you'll find in Krabi where you can just open your sliding door and jump in, but instead still need to walk about a few meters out of your door in order to reach the pool.

The spa service is awesome too, so do try it out. But do remember to make reservations in advanced to avoid being disappointed.

Really enjoyed our stay for 4 nights at Amadea. Peaceful hotel. Staff very friendly and always smiling. Great buffet breakfast. Stayed in deluxe room overlooking pool on second level, room was very spacious and cleaned every day. The street it is on Jalan Laksmana is always quite congested and chaotic (road often flooded in some parts) to avoid this and if you have a scooter park closer to the hotel and use the laneways to get around, some really pretty rice paddies near the hotel too. The hotel is set back quite far from the road. I would stay here again.

Stayed here for 10 days. The staff were fantastic. Location was excellent. The hotel was very modern and clean. Not overly big but quite cosy. Long walk to Main Street but golf type buggies were available most of the time. Restaurant and breakfast were very nice. We would definately consider staying here again. Villas looked very nice too. Ideal for a group or large family.

Room Tip: Pool rooms are the go, little more expensive but worth it

amadea is a nice resort located in the heart of seminyak. i think the best restaurants in seminyak are less than 5-10 min walk from the hotel. the rooms are standard resort style - nothing more - nothing less.

the ladies at the reception do a fine job and are very helpful in guiding you around the area.

one evening we were clicking photos in the pool we forgot our iphone near the ledge . when it struck us, it was really late and we couldn't find the phone.when we informed the staff they took our request like a treasure hunt. all of a sudden a bunch of the staff rused. surprisingly one of the guys who rides their golf carts found it - it was quite dark. we really had no hopes of getting it back.

The breakfast spread was the much better compared to other hotels we stayed in bali. the manager even came upto me and asked if i had any special dietary requirements, he could make a special meal for me. the resort offers excellent value for $100 / night. the service surpassed my expectations especially for a hotel in this price category.

would definitely go back !

We spent 6 days in an upstairs room overlooking the pool. The room was very well appointed & very clean. The staff were very helpful & very friendly. It's about 15 minutes walk to the beach, & if you catch a taxi it's less than $2 (make sure it's a BlueBird taxi as they have meters otherwise others will charge anything they like)The cafe at the front of the hotel has good breakfasts (included) but their dinners are very ordinary.Cross the road & try Ultimo & wait for a table out the back...well worth it. Our favourite dinner was at Sardines but you need a taxi. The pool was very clean but the chlorine was quite strong & you need goggles if you want to swim laps.

Room Tip: Upstairs on the eastern side gives you shade in the morning to sit on the balcony for a cup of tea b...
