“best local warung food!”
Reviewed February 10, 2014

This warung (local shop)'s food is just simple excellent! I went Bali for 4 days and had 3 meals there! Pork Satay is a MUST try! And I also love the Indonesian Nasi Goreng (fried rice) so so much!
If you want to know where local people really dining everyday, you should go this kind of warung for a try! It located near the corner of a turn (opposite to Gourmet Café).

“family-run local restaurant”
Reviewed February 8, 2014

Warung Eny offers good-quality local food at affordable prices - ordered 8 dishes to share for dinner, and enjoyed each of them except for the fried chicken. The grilled snapper fish is a must. Restaurant was by the roadside and non-airconditioned but the interior was clean with an open kitchen.

“Great Satay and Grilled Prawns”
Reviewed February 5, 2014

Very fresh food prepared when you order. The satay and prawns were cooked on a grill in front of the restaurant using coconut husks like the seafood warungs you find near Jimbaran. We were the only people in the restaurant at 1:00pm on a Thursday, so we got a lot of attention. The vegetable dishes were also very good, particularly the one with the young coconut. They also served fresh juice made to order. This was a recommendation from the hotel for something local / authentic / reasonably priced and I 100% agree.

“Pretty good local restaurant”
Reviewed February 5, 2014

We went here for dinner based on the reviews on Trip Advisor. It certainly looked nondescript from the outside as a few others have written, but we ventured in. Being just past 6pm we were the first clients for the night. There was no air con inside but we chose one of the front tables right underneath the fans and facing the open kitchen.

We ordered the fried calamari, grilled chicken (as recommended by the owner waitress), gado gado and chicken satay. We also tried a fresh young coconut and watermelon juice. As it was a totally open kitchen, we could see first hand how well the food and drinks were prepared and cooked. The coconuts were freshly opened and the watermelon was also freshly made. I also noticed that our meals were hygienically portioned in plastic bags from the fridge. This gave us a good degree of comfort and we could see the various food preppers (seemed to be a total family affair with the kids doing all the prep work and Mum and Dad doing the cooking) working from the open kitchen.

For those "uninformed" individuals who commented on a cat lying around in the kitchen, clearly no idea that things are very different from their usual hometown Michellin star local in downtown Bali. Observing how this family operated in the open kitchen was a pleasure to see how well they handled the food. Service was also very genuine, polite and efficient, non of that false "work for my tip", "Hi my name is Annabel Suzy May and I will be your waiter tonight".

As mentioned by other reviewers, the food was pretty cheap - about $5 for each main course and whilst admittedly it was not outstanding, it was certainly much better than your standard fare on the tourist strip. Eating till our bellies were full - the bill came just over $26 for the 3 of us including drinks.
