“good food, lacks atmosphere”
Reviewed August 26, 2012 via mobile

we decided to venture in lastnight based on reviews here. it was empty when we sat down but gradually started filling up, funnily enough all the customers were women.

anyway, we noticed there was a lack of atmosphere, no music at all, just silence basically, quite sombre and a little too warm for restaurant standards.

Nevertheless, the waiter was very hospitable, food was freshly made pasta and good flavours. the pizza oven looks impressive and they were getting a lot of takeaway orders.

it wasn't the best Italian we have had in Bali, but well priced and tasty. some tunes and a few fans on probably would have put us in that island mood but we left feeling so so.

“Not a bad choice but maybe not the best.”
Reviewed August 25, 2012 via mobile

Having been to a couple of other pizza/pasta places in Seminyak we decided to try Sasa.
The staff and service was great from the moment we arrived til the moment we left.
Its a bonus being able to enjoy a true wood fired pizza, however we ordered the 4 cheese pizza and it was quite plain, perhaps just not a good combination of cheeses.
The ravioli ragu sauce was basic and lacked a little flavour, whereas the mushroom tortellini was delicious.
Would I go back? Probably not given the amount of choices in Seminyak.

“Italy in Bali”
Reviewed August 23, 2012

This is my favorite Italian joint in Bali. Best pizzas. They're cooked in. Wood fired stone oven and the toppings are traditional Napoli toppings. The pastas are great. Unlike the usual over cooked homogenous mess other so called Italian restaurants serve up they do theirs 'Al Dente' so you can actually taste the pasta. My personal favorite is the baked gnocchi. Wow. Perfect little soft dumplings cooked in a Napoletana sauce finished off with yummy melted gooey cheese on top. And for desert it has to be the awesome freshly made to order cannoli. I usually steer clear of the grilled meat and fish dinners as I find Sasa does pizza and pasta much better. Make sure you have a tomato salad to start. How is it that Italians can take the humble tomato, add a bit of basil, a few lugs of olive oil and some salt and pepper and make the best as salad you've ever had. Enjoy

“Best pizza we have had for ages.”
Reviewed August 22, 2012 via mobile

We got pizzas that I would rate up there with the best I have had at Sasa. Made freshly in front of you and cooked in their ?wood fired oven. Highly recommend!

“Sasa is back. Hooray!!!”
Reviewed August 11, 2012

After a huge fire that burnt out the whole row of shops (it started in the laundry 2 doors down) Sasa has rebuilt and is going again.
The food is as good as ever. To me it tasted better but maybe it was just that we have been hanging out for it. There are other Italian restaurants in the area but nothing comes up to Sasa's standard. All the old dishes are there. I can recommend Vongole, Cartoccio, Zuppa de pesce. The pizza oven survived and was turning out a steady stream of tasty pizza.
The atmosphere is pleasant, fan cooled, great to go to now as the staff were retained during the rebuild and are all on a high with the energy of the renewal. Drinks are unchanged, Prices are reasonable. Our favorite place.
