My husband and I travelled to Bali for our second wedding anniversary and stayed at Ziva Villas in Seminyak. We really wanted a private villa, with a reasonably large pool and a room that was modern and clean, right in the heart of Seminyak. Ziva ticks all those boxes. The pool is so large and worth it, we swam in it every day! The villa is built around the pool, so your view is great from anywhere in the villa.

Breakfast is cooked daily by an in-house chef in your own villa. This was great and a change from the usual buffet breakfasts. We enjoyed breakfast by our own pool.

Staff are very helpful at reception and always polite.

The location is also great. It is within walking distance to the one of the main restaurants/shopping strips in Seminyak, so you will save money by being able to walk everywhere. However, the taxis are incredibly cheap, so we still used this option to get out of the humidity.

Next door to Ziva is a massage/beauty salon. They do really good foot massages at a cheaper price than several other massage parlours we experienced.

We intend on returning to Ziva on our next trip and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

We visit Bali around twice a year and always stay in Villas. Ziva is ideally located just a few mins walk to Seminyak sqaure. The villa itself is good size for a couple and its style is quite typical of mid range villas in Bali. It's not the traditional Balinese style villa but more on the modern look. The bedroom is a generous size, with a living area, comfortable sofa and bed and basic bathroom area. The private pool is very decent, good size, enough for a few laps. The staff at Ziva are very courteous and helpful which is very typical of the Balinese culture.
Although Ziva was comfortable and served it purpose, I would like to point out some drawbacks:
1. bathroom amenities were of poor quality. Towels felt old, worn and rough. Shower gel, shampoo etc in ceramic bottles are not practical. impossible to hold with wet hands without the fear of dropping the bottles
2. finishes were quite worn. the bathroom cabinet doors couldn't shut properly
3. sunbeds were too curved uncomfortable especially if you lie on your
front. Streneous on the back
4. the pool deck is too narrow. lots of plants which looks beautiful and tropical but didn't allow area to move the sunbeds around or even to walk around the sunbeds
5. water pressure in the shower was very low
6. walk way from reception to villa may look pretty, but because of the uneven tiles, it made walking a difficult task especially for women in heels! the archway of plants needs trimming and maintenance ... not easy to walk through especially if you're 6ft. I turned my ankle walking back to my villa on a rainy night!
