Had an amazing time at Villa Kipas. The staff were wonderful, friendly and helpful. The Villa was fantastic. Clean, tidy, and relaxing. I loved the private pool and the outdoor furniture to lay and read. Perfect location, close to the beach and restaurants. Can wait to go back!

“Another amazing week at Villa Kipas!!!!”

What can I say, another amazing week at Villa Kipas!!!

The place to go when you want beautiful surroundings, amazing staff, good food and privacy.

Once again we stayed at Villa Kipas for a week during our wedding anniversary. You may ask why do we keep going back. Well we have never found anything that is better.

From amazing Dewi who welcomes you into friendly arms and makes sure your needs are met and the villa is spotlessly clean and organised in an unobtrusive manner. To the first class breakfast, manicured grounds and organising restaurant bookings the villa staff is amazing.

Then there is the villa. Beautifully laid out with amazingly comfortable king sized canopy beds great pool and outdoor area and the location is right next to the beach and the use of the gym up the road. There are also little touches like Compatible power adaptors. IPod docking stations, Spa style products in the bathrooms that add to the 5 star services.

Thanks once again to the Dewi, Windi, Julie and Neil for another fantastic holiday.

See you all in September.

It took us a while, but VERY glad we made the effort to come back to Bali and see a whole other side. Thankyou so much Neil and Julie. We had such a wonderful stay at Kipas, It exceeded all our expectations! I will miss sitting around the pool, lying under the day bed and of course the morning walk along the beach before Breakfast. The Villa was Fantastic and all the staff were so brilliant, i have offered all of them a room in our Sydney house. (sadly there were no takers..) The Villa had everything we needed and more. We would recommend this Villa to everyone from couples wanting a romantic getaway to families wanting a place to stay where there is enough room for everyone! I fully recommend visiting all of Neil's favourite places to eat and drink. Thanks for the memories. We will be back! Hayley & Eddie

“Fantastic”

We had a great time at Villa Kipas in Seminyak and just wanted to share this information with anyone else planning to go to that area of Bali.

We are two couples in our late twenties/ early thirties and were looking for a mixture of villa seclusion within reach (but not earshot) of restaurants/nightlife in southern Bali. This worked out to be the ideal long-weekend break from Singapore.

Neil, the manager in Australia sorted everything out before we arrived including emailing a welcome pack and arranging airport transfers.

After the short flight from Singapore we were met by Made, the driver and taken to the villa. Windi, the on-the-ground manager gave us a welcome drink and tour of the villa as soon as we arrived.

We were bowled over by the villa. It’s beautifully designed- stepping stones over fish ponds and lush aquatic plans lead to the impressive pool surrounded by more tropical greenery. The decking area catches the sun most of the day and there’s a balcony upstairs for additional sun-worshiping if that’s your thing. There’s also much needed shade near the pool in the shape of a little thatched gazebo and sitting area. The spacious open-plan downstairs living area is equipped with everything you could need for cooking and relaxing. Again, it’s decorated in Balanese style with great attention to detail. The two grand double rooms are also very attractive. The en suites bathrooms have slate walls, showers over stone tiles and polished white pebbles. Orchids flower next to mirror and frangipani flowers are scattered on the four-posters. Romantic! The only slight issue for light sleepers was the sound of mopeds coming round the little lane between 7 and 8 am as locals went to work. Otherwise it was very peaceful.

There was a super little guide written by Neil with some insider tips and restaurant recommendations. We stayed for only a short time but Made could have driven us around the island with minimal forward planning. Dewi, the maid, made us cooked breakfast of our choosing every morning and cleaned the villa without intrusion. Both Made and Dewi were very polite, friendly and fun to chat to.

The beach was only a few yards down a little overgrown road, with shops and great restaurants ten minutes’ walk away in the other direction. The hip Ku de Ta bar was a top choice for sundown drinks and good food ten minutes’ walk down the beach. The beach itself was fairly quiet and sandy and the water was mostly crystal clear (but does suffer from flotsam wash-up after storms).

Bars (gay and not so gay) in Seminyak and Legian were great (Kuta was a nightmare- don’t bother with it!). But if you wanted a quiet beach-centred holiday with international cuisine nearby, this would be a good choice too- it’s far enough away from any of these places to remain in blissful ignorance of them; and with car/moped hire (or Made’s chauffeuring services) easily available, you could use this private haven as a base for exploring Bali too.

This villa was absolutely ideal for our short break from Singapore. It’s also great value for villa luxury. We’d definitely go back.

“Just gets better and better”

I first stayed at this villa about eighteen months ago and was so impressed that I recomended it to a number of friends, all of whom had similiar good stays. The villa was obviously very successful as I had been unable to get a booking on a number of occasions. My experience has been that some properties lose their edge over time and become complacent with success, so I was looking forward to seeing if it was as good as I remembered.

The Jl Sari Dewi beachside area of Seminyak is my preferred (Seminyak) destination and I have stayed at most of the villas in the area including Aman Putri, in the same group of four villas as Kipas.

What can I say? It is an exceptional property. The staff have become more experienced since my last stay without losing their obvious joy of working at the villa. Beautifully maintained with lovely features and all the technology bits and pieces that we need with luxury travel. The villa is a few minutes walk from the beach.

Fabulous breakfasts but some mornings I walked up the beach for breakfast at Ku De Ta for a lifestyles of the rich and famous experience.

I like to stay in different properties each trip, but this is a special one that I can see myself going back to time and time again.

“Villa Kipas heavenly”

We booked villa kipas, directly via the website. - under villas of excellence web address. we spoke directly to neil mcdonald in sydney, who was most helpful in our booking. Neil manages kipas, and was a wealth of knowledge for the local area. Neil organised express check-in through Denpasar airport, which was fantastic. within ten minutes we were through the airport and on our way to the villa. 'Made' was our driver, and was a great help. especially when we wanted to change money on the way to the villa - he saved us from being ripped off. Our first villa which we stayed in for five nights was fabulous, and we will write about this later.we then moved to villa kipas for 9 nights, and from the minute we walked through the gate it felt like our own paradise, it blew me away. We were greeted by 'Dewi' who was to look after us, for our stay. She cooked a fabulous breakfast each morning, and then stayed to clean the villa, and always with a smile on her face. She really is a credit to the villas. The Villas have that homely feeling to them, we have stayed in some of the best hotels in the world and i can tell you they do not have a patch on villa kipas even with there gold leaf towel holders and milk baths. The pool area was beautiful, with the pool being surrounded by ponds and waterfeatures. full of koi carp, which the children loved feeding every day. the two bedrooms were identical both with ensuites and king sized beds. which were perfect, even for 3 children to share. even though we did have an extra pull-out bed. the kitchen was well equipped with every utensil, filter water and complimentary tea, coffee etc. There was also an out door shower which at the flick of a switch turned into a water feature. (very effective). At night when all the garden is lit up it truly is magical. A 2 minute stroll down the lane beside the villa takes you to the beach, and 5 minutes the other way takes you to all of the restaurants. this felt very safe, as it was well lit and contained plenty of security guards and cameras. The villa is on a corner of 2 lane-ways so do expect to hear the occasional moped horns as they come around the corners, this is not a main road, only locals coming to, and from the beach, or going back to their villas. We were prepared for this and it really was not a problem. (the villa even supplies ear plugs for your convenience) - but they were not necessary. Villa kipas was wonderful a perfect retreat for a family holiday, it really was a perfect place to stay. we had a feeling there that you rarely get abroad it may even have been that we were as near to paradise as you can get.
lastly thankyou to all the other staff who were fantastic, Mr Windi, Gede, who dropped everything if we needed anything at all. We will be returning very soon, we feel blessed to have met such wonderful people.
