The hotel is well situated for people who are looking for a little buzz and night life in their area. It's about a 20 minute walk down the beach from the main strip of seminyak for places like KUDETA beach club and Motel Mexicola but that's a good thing.

The room was generous and clean with all of the modern conveniences afforded by most top tier hotels. WiFi fast!l. The pool is very relaxing and surprisingly quiet as the hotel is tucked away in a little alley off the main street.

Breakfast was easy and delicious, check-in and check out was a breeze.

Very comfortable place to spend a couple of nights surrounded by good staff, good food and greenery everywhere.

Would highly recommend.

We recently spent three nights at Lloyd’s Inn, Bali. The hotel was aesthetically very beautiful, nestled in one of the side streets that are characteristic of the Legian area. The staff were friendly, and the food was decent (although particularly sparing on some of the portion sizes, especially with the promotional deals).

However, we came across a very elaborate and sophisticated scam over the phone which has undoubtedly either originated from within the hotel (i.e. by a member of staff) or in light of the hotel's loose handling of our personal data. Exactly 14 days before our stay (the exact day that free cancellation ends), I got a call from someone who claimed they were from Lloyd’s Inn. This person knew my name, phone number, booking reference, length of stay and (particularly important) the exact price we had locked in. This person said that my card had failed to be processed and asked if he can process it now; I said yes. With Monzo bank, such transactions require you to approve within the app. While he was on the phone, I asked a bit more about the policy, and he cited that the hotel policy was to take payment 2 weeks before the first night. Since this coincided with the last free day of cancellation, and the person at the end of the line knew all my details, I agreed to confirm my card number. There was one payment for the exact price of our stay and nothing after this. As a result, although I spoke to my bank about it, their fraud department said that they did not think this was fraudulent; nonetheless, I cancelled my card. Since there was no further activity, I believed that this did come from the hotel. Nonetheless, I emailed them for confirmation, receiving a copied and pasted generic email in response, and no response to a second email asking for confirmation. When I called, the person at the end of the line seemed unable to deal with the problem as there was a language barrier to our communication.

With this in mind, we were dismayed to find (on arrival) that we were charged again for our stay, and have now incurred a double charge which the hotel seemed completely unconcerned with and unprepared to help resolve.

They were prepared to give a letter explaining the circumstances; however, the letter (attached) provided no context, and no further explanation of the apparent ‘investigations’ that the hotel will take in due course. This was the only means of recourse that the hotel said they could provide us. It should also be noted that we were informed by one of the members of staff that other customers had been victims of the exact same scam.

In light of the above, we believe that the hotel should provide a complete reimbursement of our funds (as with those of other guests similarly affected) as a remedy for what has been a clear negligent breach of the basic duty (as a hotel open to the public) to protect our personal details. Had this been of a greater amount, we would have been prepared to launch legal proceedings for tortuous negligence and under vicarious liability (if it was found to be an act by their employee).

Had it not been for this fraudulent activity, we would have generally enjoyed our stay. It is difficult, however, to rate this hotel anything other than terrible considering that it effectively cost us double the advertised rate for our stay.

Dear Cezarrugasira,

Thank you for choosing Lloyd's Inn Bali as your choice of accommodation. We are glad that you are satisfied with our hotel and service rendered by our team despite the unfortunate episode.

We take fraud seriously and our staff will never ask for guest's credit card information over the phone. The call that you received from number +62 855 74670664 is not from our hotel.

As you booked via Booking.com, your credit card payment has to be processed by their application. You may wish to reach out to Booking.com or inform your bank of this fraudulent transaction for further investigation. Our hotel manager has also personally met up with you to explain the situation.

As much as we wish to help, we regret that there is nothing much we can do on our side. However, should the bank/authorities require any information from us, we would be more than willing to help.

It is unfortunate that this review was published before any investigation was done. Nevertheless, please rest assured that we have taken note of this matter and will look into ways to step up on fraud prevention measures.

The hotel is very well designed, simple and eco friendly, the corridor and restaurant are still fresh even without ac. The smoking area is placed well, so I can worry less. And the staff are very friendly and helpful, thank you so much, we can enjoy our holiday to the fullest.

We searched and searched online for the best place to stay in Seminyak and I am so glad we finally settled on this place. Admittedly, it is not the most traditional choice but we decided to opt for a more traditional stay in other parts of Bali.

To start with, it is in a prime location on Double Six Street. 5 minute walk to the right for the beach, 5/10 minute walk to the left for the shops/restaurants. We were greeted very politely by the staff and were even offered the coolest welcome drinks served in mini baths - yes mini baths (see below for the piccy!)

Our room was inviting, clean and comfortable with all the amenities we needed. The outdoor space was restricted with no view but never less we were grateful for the privacy.

The breakfast - wow. Everyday was different with a Western and Indonesian option, so we always looked forward to seeing what was on the menu. In addition, the buffet was vast with lots to offer and the food was all very fresh. It does get very busy so try to come down early to get a good seat.

Furthermore, the outdoor pool was amazing. Although, there is not much space for sun beds so there are only a few. This hotel also has a ‘hideout’ perfect for a quite place to read, chill out or play games. A great charming addition to this hotel! We did not utilise the spa but it was very tempting.

If you’re heading for Seminyak, this is a great spot to stay.
