We were looking for somewhere not so 'tourist-like'..with authentic Balinese cuisine. This restaurant has a good online menu that helps us decide whether we should give this place a go. Near our hotel, located at a busy junction. Quiet, quaint restaurant with fake chandelier and an old world charm.
2-3 guys waiting on an indoor n outdoor cafe. Lovely atmosphere at night with candlelight. We chose the indoor area with good fan ventilation.
Good list of cocktail n mock tails. Yummy strawberry mocktail.
We had what we came for..Balinese Gurame (fried fish) which came whole & well fried (not greasy), v fresh. Along with the fish came a set of rice with 4 sambal sauces n water spinach. It was scrumptiously good. So good that we came back and had lunch there. No sharing. One set each of gurame. It was really good.
Only downside is the service. Really so slow that even the waiter was falling asleep at the side.
Come here if you are not in a rush. Night is lovely.
We had our wedding anniversary dinner there. Unforgettable.
