My sister and I stayed in Seminyak at Corra Villa (2 bed/2 bath) for 5 nights in late January 2010. With just the 2 of us we wanted somewhere we could hang out comfortably and also safely walk to shops, beach, restaurants etc at any time and we weren't disappointed. Beautiful fresh bouquet of flowers around the villa added a special touch, as well as the welcoming Bintang (Yum!!!). Repellent, bottled water and shampoo (no conditioner) is available.

The bedrooms had their own aircon as well as in the lounge / kitchen. This is one of the few places where I found the bed so comfortable, and more importantly the pillows (usually they are too flat or hard). The outdoor bathrooms were unique and there is privacy with the plants all around. If you wanted, you could close the curtain which blocks the whole bathroom from outside view. The shower had good pressure and was hot. There is a washing machine available as well if you need to do some quick laundry.
Bring your ipod, you can play it through the tv using a cable. Could be a bit snug on the couches if there were 4 people but you don't really spend that much time in anyway. Outdoor Living/ Pool: Favourite spot! You have speakers here as well to play your ipod. Pool surrounded by a beautiful garden and a great size to splash around in.

The beach is about 5 mins walk away, the restaurants 5 mins walk the other way. We went out at night and with just the two of us, felt very safe.
Kuta is only about a 20 min walk by beach. Taxi's are always going past on the road leading to the villa. Since we love our wines, we bought some from Bali Fine Wines (across the road from the villa) A South African Wine costing about AU$40 which wasn't too bad.
One of the neighbours of the Villa has a couple of gorgeous dogs who are very friendly (also enjoy left over food).

Saving the best to last, Made who is perfect company for outings, has great driving skills and excellent english (and humour!). Anis who made delicious breakfasts for us and Mick who welcomed us and fixed our safe after we did something to it to make it beep like crazy (think that was my sister). Thanks heaps for a wonderful time!!

We stayed at Corra Villa for about 4 nights in December 2010. The location is brilliant - next to all the action in Seminyak - Oberoi / Kudeta etc., - & minutes from the beach. The villa is clean, the pool is clean and oh so cooling after a day in the humidity and the interior is spacious. Beds are really comfortable. The house is behind high walls and at the end of a private laneway so it is very quiet. Annis was extremely corteous and was forever on hand with a drink or snack and Made toured us through Seminyak, Legian & Kuta and took us shopping. Nothing was ever too much for either of the. I will be recommending Corra Villa to all my friends and family. Great base to discover this part of Bali.

My wife and I with our 2 girls (7&9) stayed at Taman Toya back in early November (yes, it has taken a while to write this!!!). We spent 8 nights in this Villa before spending another week in Jimbarren Bay. It was pure bliss and I can't speak highly enough of Peter and his staff. Our family travels a lot and our expectations are high. Taman Toya didn't dissapoint. We can also say that Seminyak is the place to be if you are looking for more of an upmarket holiday with paying the high prices.

A few things we really liked about Taman Toya:
- Taman Toya had an authentic Balinese feel to it with an open air living area and beautiful gardens around the pool. When we were there it was very hot (even the Balinese complained!) but the open air living area with the ceiling fans meant it was still comfortable. If it becomes to warm you could retreat to the spacious bedroom or the pool.
- The Villa was very private with high security walls surrounding it. We always felt Andre and his team were keeping an eye on things.
- Peter (an Aussie expat)was a fantastic host. He made sure our privacy was maintained but still made us feel very welcome and confortable as well as offering us very handy tips.
- The pool was amazing. The kids had a great time. We took their goggles and snorkels and they were entertained for hours.
- We sat in in the comfortable living room chairs, sipped on our cold drinks, read with 1 eye and kept our other eye on the kids!
- The breakfast was fantastic. The girls requested pancakes every day (so did I!) and Mum ate eggs. This all came with a fresh fruit platter, very fresh continental bread and freshly squeezed juice.
- The rooms were beautiful and spacious. All were tastefully decorated and the outdoor bathrooms were fantastic. Each room had split sytem airconditioner that made sleeping very comfortable.
- The fridge was stocked and run by the staff. This was explained to us on check in and we found all of the prices to be very fair. We subsequently indulged as it wasn't worth lugging beer and soft drinks back from the supermarket.
- The beach is a 10 minute walk. I hired a longboard with the kids and took them surfing. I laid on the back with 1 of them on the front, caught a wave and then got them to stand up and surf while I balanced the board. They loved it!
- Restaurants were very close (Taxis were easy if you don;t want to walk - approx AUD$1-2). All were reasonably priced and quality excellent. We actually wanted a villa with a kitchen so we could cook and stay in with the kids. I don't think we cooked once!
- Restaurants to visit: Art Cafe - 200m (casual, good qulaity, cheap), Biku (Cheap and big menu!), Ultimo (great food, reasonably priced, great atmosphere, busy!), Ku Te Da (get rid of the kids for your sunset cocktail!), La Luciola (On the beach, beautiful candle lanterns, atmosphere A1, a bit more expensive, our kids favourite), Rumours (great food and cheap - try the frozen Dacquaris and the chocolate pudding - amazing!), Hu'u (trendy, amazing decor, service A1, food great, pool in the restaurant!), Elysian (just around the corner (great food).
- 'Putu' (the driver) was great. He was knowledgable, friendly and reasonably priced. The car was new, airconditioned and clean. One day we hired him to take us on a cultural tour. He explained traditions and customs to our kids, took us to a traditional Balinese house, temple etc and was a lot cheaper than an official tour.
- Massages just around the corner were fantastic. 1hr for under AUD$15 - I went every day!

We had a great time and will be returning soon. Thank you to Peter and the team for a very memorable holiday.

I have only just returned from my 3rd stay in the Guest House at Taman Toya Villa. The Villas are very well maintained and have every modern convenience. The Guest House has windows on 3 sides, looking out over the swiming pool but the real bonus is the wonderful views over the Rice fields. They are so green and give off such a tranquil and relaxing air. Swimming in the lovely pool and being able to look over the rice fields at the same time is fantasic. The King Size 4 Poster Bed was great for sleeping

The staff and the owner Peter are there went you want them and only too willing to assist. They are great.. Loved the full breakfast every morning.

The beach is a short 10 minutes walk. The villa is very close all the best restaurants in Seminyak Square where you can get food from all over the world at very reasonable prices.

Came home and all my work colleagues said how well and relaxed I looked. I felt it to.

I am looking forward to my next visit in 2011.

We have just returned from a lovely week in Bali, 5 nights of which we spent at Taman Toyah, one of several private villas in the Umah Watu group. The villa was extremely private, surrounded by high walls and neighbours unable to look in. We entered via a locked door into the garden, where the pool, and open plan living area of the villa awaited us. The bedroom upstairs was lockable and lovely - Malay-style with wooden shutters opening all the way around, with a view of the pool. Lovely comfortable king size bed. We enjoyed the "outdoor" bathroom - which yes is outside but upstairs off the bedroom and covered - a bit of a novelty bathing in the fresh air (again, private).
The pool was great, and the villa was lovely to hang out in. It was a comfortable 10 minute maximum walk to the shops and restaurants. This worked well for us.
The breakfasts were nice and served in our room. The staff were accomodating and friendly.
All up, well located, very comfortable, private and would definitely recommend to others.
