“Perfect Location for a Perfect Villa”
Reviewed November 4, 2012

We stayed for 6 nights in late October 2012 and had an amazing time. The villa is perfect. It is located so close to Seminyak Square, Eat Street and Ku de ta. It is easy to grab a blue bird taxi directly out the front (side note: with the meter on a taxi fare to Legian or Kuta is always less than $3) It is a large 2 bedroom villa with a beautiful garden and decent size (perfect temperature) swimming pool. Mick (the owner) is fantastic and prompt to deal with and was so helpful in suggesting activities especially for our wedding anniversary. The gems of this property though are Made (the driver) and Anis. Made was friendly, helpful and insightful. He organised us an amazing trip to the Bali Safari and Marine Park (and waited for us to finish) and was always early to pick us up - even the flat tyre on the way to the airport was no trouble as he was so organised and had us there perfectly on time. Miss Anis - what can I say but she is a treasure. We all loved her especially the kids. She would come in every morning and cook us a beautiful breakfast and even babysat the kids for us so we could head out the for the day for our anniversary. Lastly the entertainment system is sensational for those downtimes. Thanks again Mick, Made and Anis - we will definitely be back.

Room Tip: Tip 1 - RC Spa just on the right hand side towards Seminyak Square is fantastic and we used this a l...

My partner Rob and I stayed in Taman Toya / Umah Watu villa in July 2012. It was our first trip to Bali. It was a sort of short holliday and attending family wedding. While our family stayed in a busy noisy hotel in Legian, we enjoyed the privacy and relaxing atmosphere in the villa, contemplating view over rice fields when sitting at the pool reading a book, yet to be only few minutes walking distance from Seminyak central area and the beach. Our host Peter arranged a pick up and drop off to the arirport. Made us feel very comfortable and welcomed. As first time Bali travellers we found his advice invaluable- which taxis not to get in and which restaurants to keep away ( do not dine at Ananda). We also enjoyed his company at breakfast time and his insight into Bali's life from a resident's perspective , not mentioning Annie's great coffee , fresh juices and tasty omlettes. We loved the oudoor bathroom and king size very comfy bed. We hope we can stay at Taman Toya again next time we are in Bali probably would prefer the guest house.

Room Tip: Guest House is a good choice

My partner and I had a whistle stop stay in the guest house for two nights. We knew we had made the right choice from the first email by the owner, Peter. It was so easy from the booking, arranging the express valet, to settling in to our perfect getaway.
The guest room is so comfortable, has everything you require for a short stay. Lots of storage space if you are lucky enough to stay longer.
Peter is a very warm and engaging host who makes you feel so welcome and part of an extended family.. One of his may talents is surrounding himself by wonderful staff. The cooked breakfast is a perfect start to the day. Peter's wealth of knowledge for the area makes it easy to find the right restaurant / bar/ cafe /shops to enjoy yourself and surroundings.
We arranged a day trip to Ubud with the entertaining and delightful driver, Putu. A must if you have the time.
We had a late departure, to our surprise Peter gave us the use of a private villa to enable us to shower and relax after our big day out in Ubud and prior to leaving what is a very special place.
We will return, for a much longer stay.
Thank you Peter

We recently stayed at Umah Watu Tamantoya. The villa is in a fabulous location - close to eat street and other attractions (both if you are walking or catching a cab) but located down a quiet dead end lane, so once you are at your villa there is no outside noise to disturb you.
It was very relaxing & I wish we had stayed a few nights longer.
The staff are all lovely and unobtrusive and for us we only saw them in the morning for a quick clean up and good hearty breakfast (fruit, bread, cereal and a cooked meal of your choice - MORE than enough for the average person I would suggest)!
Peter & Mick are wonderful hosts and will make sure your visit is a pleasure and provide you with any information or help you require.
Highly recommended and we will definitley visit again......SOON!

The sad thing about this place is having to leave! My Husband, Heath and I stayed in the guesthouse for 2 fantastic nights, with a pool to ourselves, and we loved the outdoor bathroom looking out onto the rice paddies! Very comfortable bed, very quiet, and very safe! After getting in 2hrs late from Jakarta and travelling for 11 hrs, we were greeting by Putu, the driver, with a huge smile and very entertaining conversation all the way to Seminyak. We were then warmly greeted by Peter, the owner, with a cool drink. After Peter showed us our room which was very cosy, he left us to relax, and joined us the next morning for breakfast, which was cooked by his staff, anything you asked for, it was entertaining and so relaxing, what a way to start a holiday in bali! Easy walking distance, we walked to Legian, but a taxi is only very cheap also. Thank you Peter and your wonderful staff for making our trip so special, I missed you the minute we arrived in Kuta, and we can't wait to bring our teenagers back next year to your beautiful villas.

My Partner had the pleasure of 10 days staying at Tamantoya Villa during March 2012 to attend his son's wedding. When he arrived home in Australia he could not stop telling me what a great time he had had in Bali, and a fantastic stay at Tamantoya Villa. Over breakfast one Sunday morning we checked the Sunday paper travel section and that night booked a flight for two to Bali. My partner could not have expressed in words how wonderfull the owner Peter, staff and Tamantoya Villa's are, I am not sure I want everyone to know about our secret hidaway in Seminyak Bali.

Starting with Peter the owner and our host (expat Australian) and staff, Annie, Ketut & Anna cooking us wonderfull breakfast each morning, fresh juices and fruit followed by cooked breakfast of our choosing.

The well appointed kitchen was a delight to be in, after getting to know the staff I asked them if they would like me to make them an Australian cheese cake they had never had such a cake, after eating the fiirst one I made them another the day before I went home and they asked me to leave the recipe (I had such a good time with all the staff).

The Villa room & bathroom was clean and spotless and met our expectation, also the surrounding garden and pool maintained by Andreas was a pleasure to rest in and very private as it overlooks traditional rice fields.

The Villa's are just a short walk to beach, shops and great restaurants of many varieties (ask Peter for his recommendations). Numerous taxi's (with aircon and clean) for about Aud$ 1-2 will to take you to all local destinations.

Sightseeing with Putu, the Villa's driver is a "hute" he is highly recommended, his knowledge of the Island is vast, english is perfect, a delight to be with a true professional, he drove us to many places of interest, art galleries, restaurants, Balinese cultural dancing, temples and many more out of the way places which we would never have have on our own.

We are now looking forward to re visiting Tamantoya Villa in the near future

Stayed at Corra Villa for 4 nights, what a pleasure!! From transfer to check out ~ it was a breeze. Made (driver) and Anis (housekeeper) took very good care of us. Mick (the owner) arranged a VIP arrival for me with visa and immigration issues all being taken care of - excellent option. The villa is perfectly situated for both the beach and the shopping strip! Down a quiet alley, away from the hustle and bustle of the traffic, so really nice and quiet. Couldnt have asked for more - besides a longer stay.
